Hygienic Stainless Steel Liquid Feed Pump

Product Name Hygienic Stainless Steel Liquid Feed Pump
Product Image hygienic stainless steel liquid feed progressive cavity pump
Product Overview

The Hygienic Stainless Steel Liquid Feed Pump is a positive-displacement progressive cavity pump designed for transferring liquid and semi-liquid feed in commercial pig production and automated livestock feeding systems.

Its pumping principle provides continuous, pressure-stable and low-pulsation flow, making it suitable for feed mixtures whose viscosity may vary during preparation and distribution. The low-shear conveying characteristics also help handle sensitive ingredients and mixtures containing suitable suspended solids without excessive mechanical agitation.

The product-contact area can be manufactured from hygienic stainless steel with smooth internal surfaces, sanitary pipe connections and cleanable pump geometry. Suitable configurations can support CIP cleaning and simplify removal of feed residues between production cycles.

The pump can be integrated with liquid feed mixing tanks, weighing tanks, rinse water tanks, distribution pipelines, automatic valves and PLC-based feeding controls in new pig farm construction or existing livestock equipment modernization projects.

Key Features
  • Hygienic Stainless Steel Construction: Product-contact surfaces can be supplied in corrosion-resistant stainless steel suitable for wet feed applications and frequent cleaning.
  • Progressive Cavity Pumping Principle: Provides continuous displacement and stable conveying across a wide range of suitable viscosities.
  • Low Pulsation: Smooth delivery helps maintain stable liquid feed flow through distribution pipelines and metering equipment.
  • Low Shear Conveying: Helps reduce unnecessary mechanical damage to sensitive liquid feed ingredients.
  • Viscous Feed Handling: Suitable configurations can transport low- to high-viscosity liquids, slurries and pumpable feed mixtures.
  • Solids Handling Capability: Progressive cavity technology can handle suitable mixtures containing suspended particles when the rotor, stator and passage dimensions are correctly selected.
  • Cleanable Pump Geometry: Hygienic housing designs can reduce product retention and support effective cleaning procedures.
  • CIP Capability: Cleaning-in-place configurations are available for automated livestock feed kitchens and centralized liquid feeding systems.
  • Variable Flow Control: Pump output can be adjusted with a suitable variable-frequency drive according to recipe and feeding requirements.
  • Easy System Integration: Can be matched with mixing tanks, load cells, valves, flow meters, distribution circuits and farm control systems.
Structural Components
  • Stainless Steel Suction Casing: Guides liquid feed into the pumping chamber and can incorporate hygienic inlet geometry for improved cleaning.
  • Rotor: Precision-machined helical metallic rotor forms the rotating element of the progressive cavity pumping system.
  • Stator: Elastomer-lined helical stator forms sealed conveying cavities together with the rotor.
  • Flexible Coupling Rod: Suitable hygienic designs can use a joint-free flexible shaft to transmit torque while reducing internal areas where product could accumulate.
  • Mechanical Seal: Hygienic shaft sealing helps separate the product area from the drive assembly.
  • Sanitary Inlet and Outlet: Compatible hygienic pipe connections simplify integration with feed preparation and distribution pipelines.
  • Flush Connections: Optional cleaning connections support circulation of cleaning water or approved cleaning solution through the pump.
  • Geared Motor: Provides the rotational speed and torque required for continuous feed transfer.
  • Base Frame: Supports the pump and drive while maintaining alignment during operation.
  • Protective and Control Components: Pressure sensors, dry-running protection and frequency control can be added according to project requirements.
Working Principle

The pump uses an eccentrically rotating helical rotor inside a matching elastomer stator. The rotor and stator form a series of sealed cavities that move progressively from the suction side toward the discharge side.

As the rotor turns, liquid feed entering the suction housing is captured inside these cavities and transported continuously through the pump. The displacement principle produces a comparatively smooth flow with limited pulsation.

Pump capacity is closely related to rotational speed, which allows suitable systems to vary feed delivery using a frequency-controlled motor. This makes the pump useful for recipe preparation, transfer, circulation and controlled distribution applications.

For hygienic operation, the product-contact chamber can be flushed using a CIP cycle. Hygienically optimized housings, suitable sanitary connections and flush ports help cleaning liquid reach product-contact surfaces and reduce retained residues.
