 |
| Product Overview |
Cut-to-Size Air Intake Pre-Filter Media is a flexible coarse-filtration material designed for livestock house ventilation and agricultural air-handling systems. It can be supplied in rolls or prepared as individual pads to match different air inlet boxes, filter frames, ventilation chambers and centralized filtration systems.
The media is intended for the first filtration stage, where it captures coarse airborne dust, feed particles, fibers and other larger contaminants before they reach secondary filters, fans, cooling equipment or climate-control components. Its cut-to-size format is particularly suitable for pig farms, poultry houses, dairy barns and livestock construction projects where filter openings vary between buildings or ventilation zones. |
| Key Features |
- Cut-to-size flexibility: Media can be supplied in rolls or cut into pads according to filter frame and air inlet dimensions.
- Coarse dust pre-filtration: Helps capture larger airborne particles before air reaches downstream filtration or ventilation equipment.
- High dust-holding potential: Depth-loading fiber construction provides internal space for dust accumulation and helps reduce rapid surface blockage.
- Low airflow resistance: Suitable media grades can be selected to balance particle retention with livestock ventilation airflow requirements.
- Multiple filtration grades: Different efficiencies are available according to project requirements and the desired pre-filtration stage.
- Easy replacement: Cut pads can be removed and replaced without replacing the complete air inlet or filter housing.
- Adaptable to new or retrofit projects: Suitable for newly built livestock houses and upgrades to existing ventilation systems.
- Project-based configuration: Dimensions, thickness, material grade and supply format can be customized.
|
| Structural Components |
- Filter Fiber Layer: Synthetic or other suitable filtration media selected according to airflow and filtration requirements.
- Depth-Loading Structure: Three-dimensional fiber arrangement allows dust to be captured throughout the thickness of the media.
- Progressive Density Option: Selected media can be produced with increasing fiber density toward the clean-air side.
- Cut Edge: Media can be trimmed to match rectangular, square or project-specific filter openings.
- Optional Support Grid: Metal or polymer support mesh can be used where additional dimensional stability is required.
- Optional Filter Frame: Media can be combined with galvanized steel, aluminum, plastic or project-specific holding frames.

| Working Principle / Structural Principle |
Incoming ventilation air passes through the fibrous pre-filter medium before entering the livestock house or a secondary filtration stage. Coarse dust and larger suspended particles are intercepted by the fiber network through mechanical filtration mechanisms such as direct interception and inertial capture.
With depth-loading media, dust is distributed within the thickness of the filter rather than accumulating only on the upstream surface. This structure can improve dust-holding capacity and help maintain usable airflow for a longer operating period.
In multi-stage filtration systems, the pre-filter reduces the coarse dust load reaching higher-efficiency downstream filters. This can help protect more expensive filters and ventilation equipment and simplify routine maintenance. |

| Installation & Maintenance |
Installation:
- Measure the internal dimensions of the filter frame, air inlet box or retaining system.
- Cut the filter media to the required size or use factory-prepared cut pads.
- Ensure the media completely covers the airflow opening without excessive gaps around the edges.
- If the selected media has a defined airflow direction, install the upstream and clean-air sides correctly.
- Secure the media using a retaining grid, frame, clip or cassette to prevent movement under ventilation airflow.
- Check sealing around the filter perimeter to reduce unfiltered air bypass.
Maintenance:
- Inspect the media regularly for dust accumulation, deformation and blockage.
- Monitor pressure drop where differential-pressure measurement is available.
- Replace the pad when airflow resistance reaches the project maintenance limit or ventilation performance becomes insufficient.
- Do not reinstall damaged, torn or permanently deformed filter media.
- Replacement frequency should be adjusted according to farm dust levels, season, animal density and ventilation operating time.
- Keep replacement pads prepared in the correct dimensions to simplify routine farm maintenance.

| Project Cases |
Pig House Wall Inlet Pre-Filter Retrofit
Cut-to-size media pads can be installed in suitable filter boxes mounted outside existing livestock wall inlets. This type of configuration provides a practical solution where constructing a large centralized filter room is difficult.
Centralized Pig Farm Air Filtration
Pre-filter media can be installed as the first filtration stage across modular filter frames in centralized fresh-air systems. The pre-filter captures coarse dust before air reaches higher-efficiency filters.
Poultry House Ventilation Protection
Custom-cut media can be integrated into air intake sections to reduce dust loading on fans, cooling equipment and downstream filter elements.
Livestock Building Retrofit Project
Because pads can be prepared according to existing openings, the media is suitable for upgrading filter assemblies in steel structure livestock buildings without requiring standardized filter dimensions. |
| Product FAQ |
Q1: Can the pre-filter media be cut to a specific size?
A: Yes. It can be supplied as roll media or factory-cut pads according to the dimensions of the filter frame, air inlet or ventilation unit.
Q2: Is this media suitable for pig house ventilation?
A: Yes. It can be used as a coarse pre-filter in pig house fresh-air systems, wall inlet filter boxes and centralized filtration systems.
Q3: Can different filtration efficiencies be supplied?
A: Yes. Different coarse filtration grades can be selected according to project airflow, dust concentration and downstream filter requirements.
Q4: Can it be used before a higher-efficiency filter?
A: Yes. One of its main applications is protecting downstream filters by capturing larger dust particles at the first filtration stage.
Q5: Is roll material available for distributors and installation companies?
A: Yes. Roll supply is available upon request and is suitable for distributors, farm maintenance teams and ventilation contractors that need to cut different pad dimensions on site.
Q6: Can SHEWUYOU supply pre-cut replacement pads?
A: Yes. Customers can provide the required width, height and thickness, and pads can be prepared according to project requirements.
Q7: How is the correct media thickness selected?
A: Thickness should be selected together with filtration efficiency, airflow rate, available installation space and acceptable pressure drop.
Q8: How often should the filter media be replaced?
A: Replacement intervals depend on dust loading, ventilation operating hours, airflow resistance, local climate and farm conditions. Regular visual inspection and pressure-drop monitoring are recommended. |
