| Product Overview |
The Nursery Pen with Plastic Slatted Floor is an integrated housing solution for newly weaned piglets in commercial swine production. The system combines modular pen partitions with livestock-grade plastic slats to create a hygienic, practical and easily managed nursery environment. The slatted flooring allows manure, urine and spilled water to pass through the openings into the manure channel or collection system below. This helps reduce contamination on the animal level and simplifies routine cleaning between production batches. Plastic flooring is especially suitable for nursery pigs because it can provide a relatively warm, corrosion-resistant and comfortable walking surface while avoiding sharp metallic edges. Appropriate surface texture and slot geometry help provide secure footing for young pigs. The complete system can be configured with solid or ventilated partitions, feeders, drinking equipment, climate covers, heating areas and environmental-control equipment according to project requirements. |

| Working Principle / Structural Principle |
The plastic slatted flooring is installed on structural support beams above a manure pit or collection channel. Piglets remain on the upper walking surface while manure, urine and spilled water pass through the floor openings into the collection system below. This separation between the animal area and manure-storage area helps maintain cleaner pen surfaces and reduces the amount of manual manure removal required at floor level. Different floor configurations can be used to create functional areas inside the nursery pen. More open slats can be installed in activity or dunging areas, while floor sections with a lower open percentage or heating plates can be used in protected resting zones according to project requirements. The modular pen partitions guide pig movement and separate resting, feeding, drinking and dunging areas. Contact grids and water locations can also be positioned to encourage dunging behavior in selected areas of the pen. When combined with suitable ventilation, heating and climate-cover systems, the pen provides an integrated environment designed for efficient post-weaning piglet management. |

| Installation & Maintenance |
Project Planning: The floor layout should be coordinated with pen dimensions, manure-channel width, support-beam spacing, feeding equipment, drinking lines and structural dimensions of the pig house before installation. Support Installation: Floor support beams and brackets are installed over the manure channel according to the structural layout and selected slat system. Slat Installation: Plastic floor modules are positioned and connected according to the flooring design. Interlocking sections should be correctly seated to provide a stable and continuous walking surface. Pen Installation: Partition panels, gates and contact grids are installed above or adjacent to the flooring system using suitable corrosion-resistant anchoring components. Cleaning: Remove loose organic material and thoroughly wash the slatted flooring, pen partitions, feeders and drinking equipment between production batches. Inspection: Regularly check slats for cracks, damaged edges or improper seating. Floor supports, brackets and connections should also be inspected periodically. Replacement: Modular floor sections allow individual damaged slats to be removed and replaced without replacing the complete floor system. Technical Support: Flooring layouts, pen arrangement drawings and installation guidance are available upon request. |
| Project Cases |
Nursery pens with plastic slatted flooring can be incorporated into complete commercial pig-house projects together with steel structure buildings, manure channels, feeding systems, drinking equipment, climate covers, heating systems and mechanical ventilation. For new construction and renovation projects, the floor support arrangement, pen layout and equipment interfaces can be developed according to building drawings, production capacity, manure-management method, local climate and customer requirements. |
