| Product Overview |
The Solid and Open Combination Nursery Pen is a modular housing system developed for newly weaned piglets in commercial swine production. The pen combines solid partition sections with open grids, horizontal rails or ventilated sections to create different functional zones within the nursery pen. Solid sections provide a more protected lying and resting area, while open sections improve visibility, air exchange and controlled contact between neighboring groups. This combination allows the pen layout to be adapted to feeding, drinking, resting and dunging areas according to farm management requirements. The system can be integrated into new steel structure pig houses, prefabricated livestock buildings and existing farm renovation projects. Pen dimensions, materials, gates, flooring interfaces and equipment configurations are customizable according to project requirements. |

| Working Principle / Structural Principle |
The pen creates separate functional zones by combining closed and open structural elements. Solid partitions around selected sections help reduce direct drafts and provide a more sheltered environment for resting piglets. Open-grid or horizontal-bar sections allow greater air movement, improve visual inspection and provide controlled contact between neighboring groups. Their position can be coordinated with feeding, drinking and dunging areas to support practical daily management. Where a two-zone system is required, an optional climate cover can be installed above the lying area to create a warmer microenvironment. The remaining open area can be used for feeding, drinking and activity. When combined with suitable slatted flooring and manure-management systems, the pen supports efficient removal of manure and spilled water while keeping animal-accessible surfaces easier to clean. |

| Installation & Maintenance |
Pre-Installation Planning: Pen dimensions and positioning should be coordinated with the pig-house structural drawings, aisle width, flooring, manure channels, feeding equipment, drinking pipelines and ventilation system before installation. Installation: Modular partitions, contact grids and gates are positioned according to the approved layout and secured with corrosion-resistant posts, brackets and fasteners. Connections should remain rigid while allowing access for cleaning and equipment servicing. Cleaning: Remove organic material after each production batch, then wash and disinfect partitions, gates, feeders, drinkers and flooring according to the farm biosecurity program. Routine Inspection: Periodically inspect gate locks, hinges, posts, brackets, rails, grids, feeders and drinking equipment. Loose or damaged components should be repaired before the next production cycle. Technical Support: Pen layout drawings, installation guidance and project-specific equipment configurations are available upon request. |
