| Product Overview |
The Nursery Pen with Wet-Dry Feeder is an integrated piglet housing and feeding solution designed for commercial weaner production. It combines modular nursery penning with an accessible feeder that provides dry feed together with drinking water at or near the feeding station. The system is designed to support newly weaned pigs during the transition from sow milk to solid feed. Depending on the selected feeder configuration, pigs can consume dry feed and water separately or combine them at the feeding point to create a moist feed consistency. The complete pen can incorporate solid or open partitions, plastic slatted flooring, climate covers, automatic feed delivery lines, additional drinking equipment and environmental-control systems. Pen dimensions and equipment configuration are customizable according to project requirements. |

| Working Principle / Structural Principle |
Dry feed is stored in the feeder hopper and delivered toward the feeding area by gravity or through an animal-operated dosing mechanism. The feed-flow setting can be adjusted according to the type of feed, pig size and required feeding rate. Fresh drinking water is supplied through valves or nipples integrated into or positioned immediately beside the trough. Depending on the feeder design, pigs can consume feed and water separately or mix small quantities of water with feed while eating. Animal-operated feeding encourages active interaction with the feeder and helps release feed according to demand. Proper adjustment keeps a limited quantity of feed in the trough, helping to maintain freshness while reducing excessive accumulation and waste. Within the nursery pen, the feeding station is normally coordinated with resting, drinking and dunging zones. Slatted flooring and washable pen surfaces support routine manure removal, washing and biosecurity management. |

| Installation & Maintenance |
Layout Planning: The feeder location should be coordinated with the pen dimensions, pig movement pattern, service aisle, flooring, feed-delivery line, water pipeline and manure-management system. Pen Installation: Partition panels, posts and gates are assembled according to the approved livestock-equipment layout and securely fixed using corrosion-resistant brackets and fasteners. Feeder Installation: The feeder should be securely anchored or incorporated into the pen partition. Feed-drop pipes and water connections are then connected according to the selected feeding configuration. Adjustment: Feed flow should be adjusted after pigs enter the pen. The objective is to maintain easy access to fresh feed without allowing excessive feed accumulation in the trough. Daily Inspection: Check feed flow, water valves, feeder adjustment, trough cleanliness and animal access during routine barn inspections. Cleaning: Empty residual feed where necessary and thoroughly wash feeders, troughs, pen partitions and flooring between production batches. Maintenance: Periodically inspect dosing components, drinking valves, hopper connections, fasteners, gate hardware and feed-delivery pipes. Technical Support: Installation drawings and project-specific equipment layouts are available upon request. |
| Project Cases |
Nursery pens with wet-dry feeders can be incorporated into complete commercial pig-house projects together with steel structure buildings, plastic slatted flooring, feed silos, automatic conveying lines, drinking systems, climate covers, ventilation equipment and manure-management systems. For new construction and renovation projects, the final configuration can be developed according to building drawings, planned pig capacity, feeding strategy, local climate and farm-management requirements. |
