Product Name PORTABLE AMMONIA GAS DETECTOR
Product Image BH-90A Portable Ammonia Gas Detector
Product Overview The BH-90A Portable Ammonia Gas Detector is a compact handheld instrument designed for continuous NH3 concentration monitoring in livestock houses, manure handling areas, poultry facilities, farm waste treatment zones and other environments where ammonia accumulation may occur.

The detector provides real-time digital readings from 0 to 100 ppm and combines audible, visual and vibration alarms to warn operators when ammonia levels exceed preset limits. Its portable high-strength housing and rechargeable design make it suitable for routine farm inspections, ventilation checks and occupational safety monitoring.

Key Features
  • Dedicated NH3 Detection: Configured for real-time ammonia concentration monitoring.
  • 0–100 ppm Measuring Range: Suitable for routine livestock-house and farm air-quality inspections.
  • 1 ppm Resolution: Provides clear digital concentration readings for practical environmental monitoring.
  • Triple Alarm System: Audible, visual and vibration alarms provide multiple warning methods.
  • Adjustable Alarm Levels: High and low alarm thresholds can be configured according to monitoring requirements.
  • Natural Diffusion Sampling: Continuously detects ambient gas without requiring an external sampling pump.
  • Digital LCD: Displays ammonia concentration and operating status for quick field inspection.
  • High-Strength Housing: Compact construction is designed for portable industrial and agricultural use.
  • Rechargeable Operation: Built-in rechargeable power supports mobile monitoring without continuous mains power.
  • Flexible Sensor Platform: The BH-90A series can be configured for different gases according to application requirements.
Working Principle Ambient air reaches the internal ammonia sensor through natural diffusion. The gas-sensitive element responds to the concentration of NH3 in the surrounding atmosphere and converts the sensor response into an electrical signal.

The embedded control system processes the signal and displays the measured ammonia concentration in ppm. When the detected concentration reaches a programmed alarm threshold, the detector activates its audible, visual and vibration warning functions to alert the operator.

  • Check alarm, battery and sensor status regularly.
  • Clean the housing with a soft cloth and keep dust away from the sensor opening.
  • Do not immerse the detector in water or clean it with corrosive solvents.
  • Replace the gas sensor when its service life has expired or when calibration performance is no longer acceptable.
Product FAQ

Q: What gas does this detector measure?
A: This configuration is designed specifically to detect ammonia gas, identified chemically as NH3.

Q: What is the ammonia measurement range?
A: The listed measuring range is 0–100 ppm.

Q: What is the minimum displayed reading?
A: The listed resolution is 1 ppm.

Q: How does the detector warn the operator?
A: It provides audible, visual and vibration alarms when the programmed alarm threshold is reached.

Q: Is it suitable for pig and poultry houses?
A: Yes. Portable NH3 monitoring is useful for identifying elevated ammonia levels in pig houses, poultry houses and other enclosed livestock facilities.

Q: Does the detector require a sampling pump?
A: No. The BH-90A uses natural diffusion sampling for ambient gas detection.

Q: How often should the detector be calibrated?
A: Calibration should follow the manufacturer's maintenance schedule and the requirements of the user's safety program. More frequent checks may be required in demanding operating environments.

Q: Can this detector control ventilation equipment automatically?
A: This handheld model is primarily intended for portable detection and alarm. Fixed ammonia sensors integrated with a farm environmental controller are more suitable when automatic ventilation control is required.
