Product Showcase Content
Product Name Heavy-Duty High-Temperature Float Valve
Product Image heavy-duty high-temperature float valve
Product Overview The Heavy-Duty High-Temperature Float Valve is a high-flow mechanical water-level control valve engineered for applications requiring increased mechanical strength, corrosion resistance and elevated water-temperature capability. It automatically maintains the required liquid level in storage tanks, cisterns, utility tanks and process-water systems without electrical sensors or external controllers.

Its robust pilot-operated diaphragm structure is suitable for demanding agricultural and industrial environments, including livestock farm utility water systems, high-pressure wash-down equipment, irrigation installations, cooling systems and water storage applications within pig farm construction and steel structure livestock projects.

  • Designed for water temperatures up to 80°C / 176°F.
  • Compact, robust construction for demanding agricultural and industrial applications.
  • Corrosion-resistant valve body and internal materials support long service life.
  • Pilot-operated diaphragm structure provides efficient high-capacity water control.
  • Slow-closing action helps reduce water hammer in pressurized water pipelines.
  • Float position can be adjusted without special tools.
  • Approximately 20-60 mm water-level differential depending on inlet pressure.
  • Supports multiple mounting configurations for different tank and trough structures.
  • Integrated lock-off function allows the valve to be held closed during servicing.
  • Compatible port for optional frost-protection equipment.
  • Multiple inlet sizes, tail configurations and float options are available.
Structural Components
  • Valve Body: High-strength Grivory construction designed for mechanical durability and elevated-temperature applications.
  • Internal Control Components: TE21 acetal components provide dimensional stability and reliable mechanical operation.
  • Diaphragm: EPDM diaphragm controls the primary water passage.
  • Valve Seal: Santoprene sealing element provides reliable automatic shut-off.
  • Filter: PP/nylon filtration components help protect pilot passages from debris.
  • Float: HDPE float responds directly to changes in water level.
  • Float Cord: Polyester construction provides durable mechanical connection.
  • Hardware: Springs, bolts, nuts, pins and screws are manufactured from 304 stainless steel.
  • O-Rings: Nitrile sealing components are used at relevant internal connections.
  • Tail Assembly: Short-tail, long-tail and detachable configurations support different installation requirements.
Working Principle The valve uses a pilot-operated diaphragm principle. When the tank water level falls, the float moves downward and actuates the pilot mechanism. This changes the pressure balance across the diaphragm, allowing the main valve passage to open and refill the tank.

As the water level rises, the float returns toward its preset shut-off position. The pilot passage then closes, pressure equalizes across the diaphragm and the main valve closes progressively. This controlled closing action helps minimize hydraulic shock and water hammer in high-flow water supply systems.

Installation & Maintenance
  • Select the mounting position according to tank geometry, water level and applicable local regulations.
  • Where required for back-siphon protection, maintain an appropriate air gap between the inlet and overflow level.
  • Flush new pipelines before installation to prevent construction debris from entering the pilot mechanism.
  • Select the correct inlet diameter according to available pressure, pipeline capacity and required refill rate.
  • Ensure the float and actuator mechanism can move freely without interference from tank walls or internal fittings.
  • Adjust the float position to obtain the required shut-off water level; no special adjustment tools are normally required.
  • Use the lock-off function when servicing the valve or associated tank equipment.
  • Inspect the pilot filter, diaphragm, seals and float assembly periodically.
  • Remove mineral deposits, sediment or foreign material where water quality may affect valve operation.
  • Inspect threaded connections, backnuts and sealing washers during scheduled maintenance.
  • For cold-climate projects, compatible frost-protection accessories may be considered according to local climate and farm conditions.
Product FAQ

Q: What is the main difference between this valve and a standard livestock float valve?
A: This configuration is designed for greater mechanical strength and higher water-temperature capability, making it suitable for demanding utility, cleaning, cooling and process-water applications.

Q: What is the maximum operating water temperature?
A: The specified maximum operating temperature is 80°C / 176°F.

Q: Does the valve require electricity?
A: No. Water-level control is performed mechanically through the float, pilot mechanism and diaphragm assembly.

Q: Can the valve be mounted in different positions?
A: Yes. Side-entry, bottom-entry and top-entry arrangements are available, although installation must comply with local plumbing and backflow-prevention requirements.

Q: How does the valve help reduce water hammer?
A: The diaphragm closes progressively rather than stopping full pipeline flow instantaneously, helping reduce hydraulic shock.

Q: Can the water level be adjusted?
A: Yes. The float position can be adjusted mechanically to suit the required operating water level.

Q: Is it suitable for commercial pig farm projects?
A: Yes, particularly for utility water tanks, wash-down systems, cleaning equipment, header tanks and other compatible farm water-control applications. Final selection should be based on pressure, flow, water temperature and installation conditions.

Q: Are different inlet sizes and configurations available?
A: Yes. Multiple inlet diameters, BSP or NPT threads, tail configurations and float options are available according to project requirements.
