Product Name Multi-Position Automatic Float Valve
Product Image Multi-Position Automatic Float Valve
Product Overview The Multi-Position Automatic Float Valve is a compact mechanically operated valve designed to maintain a preset water level in livestock drinking troughs, storage tanks, cisterns and agricultural water vessels. Its versatile mounting arrangement allows installation from the top, side or bottom of compatible tanks, making it suitable for different trough structures and farm piping layouts.

The corrosion-resistant construction, adjustable float position and simple serviceable valve body make it suitable for commercial livestock facilities where dependable automatic filling and straightforward maintenance are required. It operates without electricity and can be integrated into pig farm, cattle farm and general livestock water-supply systems.
Key Features
  • Top, side or bottom mounting for flexible livestock trough and tank installation.
  • Automatic float-operated water-level control without electrical power.
  • Compact non-corrosive construction for humid agricultural environments.
  • Fully adjustable float angle for setting the required operating water level.
  • Built-in check valve incorporated into the valve assembly.
  • Valve body can be opened by hand for convenient inspection and servicing.
  • Water flow automatically stops when the service section is unscrewed.
  • Manual lock-off function allows the valve to be held in the closed position.
  • Multiple inlet sizes, thread standards, float sizes and extension arms available.
  • Suitable for livestock equipment projects, replacement installations and new farm construction.
Structural Components
  • Valve Body: Compact engineering-polymer housing containing the mechanical water-control mechanism.
  • Inlet Tail and Backnut: Secure the valve through the trough or tank mounting surface.
  • Seal Washer: Provides sealing between the valve connection and tank wall.
  • Float: HDPE float detects changes in water level and mechanically actuates the valve.
  • Extension Arm: Connects the float to the operating mechanism and allows different installation geometries.
  • Adjustable Float Mechanism: Allows the float angle and shut-off level to be configured during installation.
  • Internal Filter Components: Help protect the internal valve mechanism against larger contaminants.
  • Stainless Steel Hardware: Springs, bolts and nuts are designed for corrosion resistance in livestock environments.
  • Check Valve: Integrated into the assembly for controlled water-flow operation.
Working Principle As livestock consume water, the liquid level in the trough or tank falls and the float moves downward. This movement mechanically opens the valve, allowing fresh water to enter the vessel.

When the required water level is restored, the rising float moves the operating mechanism toward the closed position and stops the incoming water. The float angle can be adjusted during installation to establish the required shut-off level. The system is entirely mechanical and does not require electrical sensors, controllers or power supplies.

  • Adjust the float angle to obtain the required operating water level.
  • Use the manual lock-off function when the valve must remain closed during servicing.
  • Inspect the filter, seals, float mechanism and inlet connection periodically.
  • The valve body can be opened by hand for routine servicing without complicated disassembly procedures.
  • Clean mineral deposits or sediment according to local water quality.
  • Protect exposed farm water equipment from freezing where required by local climate conditions.
Product FAQ Q: Can the valve be installed from different directions?
A: Yes. The valve is designed for top, side or bottom mounting, allowing it to adapt to different livestock trough and tank structures.

Q: Does the valve require electricity?
A: No. It is a mechanically operated float valve and controls water level without electrical power, sensors or electronic controllers.

Q: What inlet sizes are available?
A: Reference inlet sizes include 1/4", 1/2" and 3/4", with BSP and NPT thread options available.

Q: Can it operate with low water pressure?
A: A dedicated low-pressure configuration is available for applications operating up to approximately 5 bar / 75 psi. The most suitable configuration should be selected according to actual farm water pressure and required flow.

Q: Is the water level adjustable?
A: Yes. The float angle can be adjusted to establish the required shut-off water level for the trough or tank.

Q: Is it suitable for commercial pig farms?
A: Yes. It can be used for appropriate troughs, tanks and auxiliary watering points in sow, nursery and finishing facilities where its flow capacity matches the required water demand.

Q: Is the valve easy to maintain?
A: Yes. The serviceable valve body can be opened by hand, and the water flow stops when the service section is unscrewed, simplifying routine inspection and cleaning.

Q: Can it be supplied for international livestock projects?
A: Yes. Thread standard, inlet size, pressure configuration, extension arm and mounting arrangement can be selected according to project requirements.
