Product Name Plastic Anti-Siphon Trough Float Valve
Product Image Plastic Anti-Siphon Trough Float Valve
Product Overview The Plastic Anti-Siphon Trough Float Valve is a mechanical water-level control device designed for livestock troughs, stock tanks, barrels, and other open watering containers. The durable plastic housing, integrated anti-siphon structure, adjustable mounting brackets, and automatic float mechanism provide a practical watering solution for commercial pig farms, cattle farms, livestock buildings, and agricultural projects.
Key Features
  • Automatic float control maintains a consistent trough water level.
  • Anti-siphon design helps reduce the risk of back-siphoning into the water supply.
  • High-grade plastic housing provides corrosion resistance in livestock environments.
  • Expansion brackets allow installation on wider or thicker trough and tank rims.
  • Mechanical operation requires no electricity or electronic controller.
  • Suitable for plastic and metal stock tanks, troughs, barrels, and watering containers.
  • Simple construction supports quick installation, inspection, and routine servicing.
  • Suitable for farm renovation, livestock equipment distribution, and complete housing projects.
Structural Components
  • Plastic Valve Housing: Protective body molded for strength, corrosion resistance, and farm use.
  • Float Assembly: One-piece float mechanism that responds automatically to changing water levels.
  • Anti-Siphon Valve Stem: Integrated component designed to help prevent unwanted back-siphoning.
  • Anti-Siphon Valve Housing: Supports the inlet and anti-siphon components.
  • Plastic Orifice Insert: Controls water entry through the valve assembly.
  • Expansion Brackets: Adjustable mounting components for different trough rim configurations.
  • Mounting Hardware: Brackets, screws, and fasteners for secure installation.
Working Principle When livestock consume water and the trough level drops, the internal float moves downward and opens the inlet mechanism. Fresh water enters until the preset operating level is restored. As the float rises, the valve closes automatically. The anti-siphon assembly is incorporated into the inlet structure to help protect the upstream water supply from reverse siphoning under suitable operating conditions.

  • Connect the water supply using the compatible inlet connection.
  • Flush new water lines before operation to reduce debris entering the valve.
  • Confirm that the float moves freely without contacting the trough wall or other equipment.
  • Inspect the valve orifice, anti-siphon assembly, float, brackets, and hose connection periodically.
  • Remove sediment and mineral deposits when necessary to maintain reliable water flow.
  • Protect the valve and exposed water lines from freezing in cold-climate installations.
  • Verify local plumbing and backflow-prevention requirements before installation.
Product FAQ

Q: What is the purpose of the anti-siphon feature?
A: The anti-siphon structure helps reduce the possibility of trough water being drawn backward into the upstream water supply. Local plumbing and backflow regulations should always be checked.

Q: Does the valve need electricity?
A: No. It operates mechanically through the movement of the internal float.

Q: Can it be installed on plastic and metal troughs?
A: Yes. The adjustable bracket system is suitable for many plastic and metal stock tanks and livestock troughs within the applicable rim dimensions.

Q: Is it suitable for commercial pig farms?
A: Yes. It can be used in suitable pig drinking troughs, livestock holding areas, service water tanks, and other applications requiring automatic water replenishment.

Q: What water connection is commonly used?
A: The standard configuration accepts a 3/4-inch garden hose thread. Alternative project connections can be discussed upon request.

Q: Can the product be supplied for complete livestock projects?
A: Yes. Mounting, connection, packaging, and project-specific configurations can be supplied according to project requirements.
