Working Principle The valve uses a pilot-operated diaphragm control principle. The float is connected to the pilot mechanism by a flexible cord. When livestock consume water and the trough level drops, the float moves downward and opens the pilot valve. This pressure change activates the main diaphragm and allows a high volume of water to enter the trough.

As the water level rises, the float moves upward. When the preset level is reached, the pilot valve closes and the main diaphragm shuts off the incoming water. The resulting positive on/off cycle provides automatic water replenishment without electrical sensors or motors.
