| Product Overview | The Ceiling-Mounted UV-C Surface Disinfection Unit is a fixed germicidal irradiation system designed for surface and air treatment in unoccupied livestock buildings, farm service rooms, veterinary areas, laboratories, feed processing facilities and agricultural production environments. The unit uses high-output UV-C lamps operating around the germicidal wavelength of 253.7 nm. Direct UV-C radiation is projected toward exposed surfaces below and around the fixture, supporting supplementary hygiene procedures without applying liquid disinfectant to the treated area. Ceiling installation keeps the equipment away from floor-level livestock equipment and daily traffic while providing a wide irradiation area. Multiple fixtures can be arranged according to room dimensions, mounting height, target surfaces and required UV-C dose. The system can be incorporated into new pig farm construction, livestock building renovation and steel structure building projects, with fixture quantity and control configuration designed according to project requirements. |

| Working Principle | When activated, the UV-C lamp emits germicidal ultraviolet radiation toward exposed surfaces within its irradiation field. UV-C energy interacts with microorganisms and can inhibit their ability to reproduce when an appropriate UV dose reaches the target. Reflective surfaces inside the fixture help direct the radiation toward the required treatment area. Fixture position, mounting height, exposure time and lamp output determine the UV-C dose received by each surface. Direct UV-C treatment is line-of-sight technology. Surfaces hidden behind equipment, structural components or heavy contamination may receive insufficient UV exposure and should therefore be addressed through normal cleaning procedures and appropriate fixture planning. Direct germicidal UV-C fixtures must normally operate only when people and animals are absent from the irradiated area. Appropriate safety controls should prevent accidental exposure of eyes and skin. |

| Installation & Maintenance | Installation should begin with an assessment of room dimensions, ceiling height, equipment layout and target surfaces. Fixtures should be positioned so that the required surfaces receive direct UV-C exposure with minimal obstruction. For new pig farm construction or steel structure buildings, mounting points, electrical wiring and safety interlocks can be planned together with the building design. Multiple fixtures can be distributed throughout larger rooms to improve irradiation coverage. Lamp surfaces and reflectors should be kept clean because dust and deposits can reduce UV output. Routine maintenance should include inspection of lamps, protective grids, mounting hardware, electrical components and safety controls. UV-C lamp output decreases during service life. Lamps should therefore be replaced according to actual operating hours and the lamp manufacturer's maintenance recommendations. Direct UV-C radiation can damage eyes and skin. The treatment area must be unoccupied during operation unless the specific system has been designed and validated for occupied-space use. |

| Project Cases | Ceiling-mounted UV-C systems can be incorporated into livestock biosecurity projects where fixed, repeatable treatment of exposed surfaces is required. In commercial pig farm projects, fixtures can be installed in empty service rooms, veterinary areas, preparation rooms and selected production areas for scheduled treatment after routine cleaning. For poultry and agricultural processing projects, several ceiling-mounted UV-C units can be distributed across larger rooms and connected to centralized timers or safety controls. Final fixture quantity and positioning should be determined from room geometry, lamp output, irradiation distance, shadowing and the required UV-C dose rather than room area alone. |

| Product FAQ | Q: What wavelength does the UV-C unit use? A: Professional germicidal configurations typically use high-output UV-C lamps with an emission peak around 253.7 nm. Q: Can the unit disinfect both surfaces and air? A: Direct UV-C primarily irradiates exposed surfaces, while surrounding air passing through the irradiated area can also receive UV-C treatment. Q: Can people or livestock remain in the room during operation? A: Direct UV-C configurations should normally operate only when personnel and animals are absent because direct exposure can damage eyes and skin. Q: Is the system suitable for pig farms? A: Yes. It can be used in suitable farm service rooms, veterinary areas, preparation areas and empty livestock spaces as part of a planned sanitation program. Q: Does UV-C replace normal cleaning? A: No. Physical cleaning should remove dust, manure and organic contamination before UV-C treatment because dirt and shadowing can reduce effective irradiation. Q: Can several units be installed in one room? A: Yes. Multiple fixtures can be arranged according to room dimensions, mounting height, equipment layout and required UV-C dose. Q: Can the lamps be controlled automatically? A: Yes. Timers, centralized control panels, door interlocks and other safety controls are available according to project requirements. Q: Can the system be customized for steel structure livestock buildings? A: Yes. Mounting arrangements, electrical connections and fixture layouts can be designed according to the steel structure building and farm conditions. |
