Product Overview

The Free Access Sow Gestation Stall is a flexible housing system developed for breeding and pregnant sows in modern commercial pig farms. It combines the freedom of group housing with the protection and management advantages of an individual feeding stall.

Sows can voluntarily enter an available stall for feeding or resting and leave the stall independently. The gate mechanism is designed to prevent another sow from entering an occupied stall, helping reduce competition and aggression during feeding. Individual or centralized locking can also be incorporated for insemination, pregnancy checking, veterinary treatment and routine herd management.

The system is normally manufactured from heavy-duty hot-dip galvanized steel and can be integrated with automatic feeding, drinking, slatted flooring, group resting areas and manure-management systems. Modular installation makes it suitable for new steel-structure pig houses and renovation of existing sow facilities.

Key Features
  • Combines individual protected feeding with welfare-oriented group sow housing.
  • Sows can voluntarily enter and leave the stall during normal free-access operation.
  • Self-closing or self-locking rear gate concept helps prevent another sow from entering an occupied stall.
  • Provides each sow with a protected feeding and resting position.
  • Helps reduce feed competition and aggressive interactions during feeding.
  • Individual stalls can be locked when temporary restraint is required.
  • Optional centralized locking allows multiple stalls to be secured simultaneously.
  • Open structural design provides convenient sow observation and management.
  • Can provide convenient access for artificial insemination, scanning and veterinary procedures.
  • Heavy-duty hot-dip galvanized steel construction provides corrosion resistance for demanding pig-house environments.
  • Adjustable support and anchoring configurations can accommodate different barn flooring systems.
  • Compatible with individual feed dispensers and centralized automatic dry feeding systems.
  • Suitable for commercial breeding farms, multiplier farms and large integrated sow units.
Structural Components
  • Side Frames: Heavy-duty galvanized tubular steel frames create the individual protected sow space.
  • Rear Free-Access Gate: Mechanical gate allows the sow to enter and leave while helping prevent simultaneous entry by another sow.
  • Front Gate: Side-hinged, swing or project-specific front configuration can be selected according to feeding and management requirements.
  • Locking Mechanism: Individual and optional group-locking arrangements can be incorporated for temporary restraint.
  • Flexible Connection Mechanism: Spring-assisted or flexible linkage options can help protect the sow and gate components during operation.
  • Support Posts: Reinforced steel posts provide structural stability for continuous commercial use.
  • Adjustable Feet: Adjustable supports can simplify alignment and installation on different flooring configurations.
  • Feeding Trough: Polymer concrete, stainless steel or other livestock-grade trough options are available upon request.
  • Feed Dispenser: Individual volumetric dispensers can be installed above each feeding position.
  • Water Supply: Galvanized or stainless steel water lines can be integrated with nipple drinkers.
  • Floor Anchoring: Mechanical anchors and structural brackets secure the equipment to the prepared barn floor.
Working Principle / Structural Principle

During normal group housing, the rear gate remains available for an unoccupied stall. A sow enters
