Product Overview

The Layer Cage Manure Belt System is an automatic poultry manure removal solution designed for multi-tier layer cage houses. A continuous manure belt is installed beneath each cage tier to collect fresh manure directly below the birds and transport it toward the discharge end of the poultry house.

Compared with manure storage beneath the cages, frequent belt removal helps keep the housing system cleaner and reduces the amount of manure remaining inside the building. Optional belt ventilation or manure drying equipment can further reduce manure moisture and ammonia emissions while producing material that is easier to store, transport or process.

The system can be integrated with H-type or other compatible multi-tier layer cage structures, transverse conveyors, inclined manure conveyors and external manure handling equipment. Drive, tensioning and tracking components are engineered to maintain stable belt movement over long poultry-house rows.

For large commercial egg farms, the manure belt system can be coordinated with feeding, drinking, egg collection, ventilation and farm control equipment to form a complete automated poultry production solution.

Key Features
  • Automatic Manure Removal: Continuous belts beneath the cage tiers collect and transport manure away from the bird area.
  • Multi-Tier Integration: Suitable for modern layer cage systems with multiple stacked levels.
  • Cleaner Poultry Environment: Frequent manure removal helps reduce manure accumulation inside the poultry house.
  • Optional Manure Drying: Ventilation systems can direct air over the manure belt to lower moisture content and reduce ammonia emissions.
  • Stable Belt Tracking: Properly designed drive and tensioning assemblies help maintain straight and reliable belt movement.
  • Automatic Belt Adjustment Option: Sensor-based belt tracking can be integrated to reduce manual adjustment requirements.
  • Efficient Manure Transfer: Longitudinal belts can discharge onto transverse and inclined conveyors for transport outside the poultry building.
  • Durable Farm Construction: Galvanized or corrosion-resistant structural components are suitable for demanding poultry-house environments.
  • Reduced Labor Requirement: Automated manure removal reduces dependence on manual cleaning procedures.
  • Project Customization: Belt width, cage tiers, drive capacity and discharge layout can be designed according to project requirements.

Working Principle / Structural Principle

Fresh manure falls through the cage floor onto the continuous belt installed directly beneath each tier. During the selected cleaning cycle, the drive unit moves the belt toward the end of the cage row.

At the discharge end, manure is removed from the belt by the end roller and cleaning assembly before dropping onto a transverse conveyor. The transverse conveyor can then deliver the manure to an inclined conveyor, transport vehicle, storage area or downstream manure-processing system.

Where belt ventilation is installed, controlled airflow passes over the manure while it remains on the belt. This promotes drying before manure leaves the poultry house and can contribute to lower ammonia emissions and improved storage characteristics.

Installation & Maintenance

The manure belts should be installed beneath each cage tier with correct alignment, support spacing and belt tension. Drive units and return rollers must be positioned accurately to prevent uneven loading and belt deviation.

At the cage-row end, the discharge point should align with the transverse manure conveyor. If an inclined conveyor is included, its outlet height should be designed for the selected manure storage area, trailer or treatment equipment.

Routine maintenance includes checking belt tracking, tension, rollers, scrapers, bearings, drive motors and gearboxes. Manure and feathers should be removed from moving components, and automatic tracking sensors should be kept clean where fitted.

Project Cases

In a typical multi-tier layer project, one manure belt is installed beneath every cage level. During cleaning, all selected belts transport manure toward the end of the house, where the material is transferred onto a common cross conveyor.

For large automated egg farms, the cross conveyor can discharge manure to an inclined conveyor and then directly into a trailer, covered storage area, drying facility or fertilizer-processing line. Optional manure belt ventilation can be added where lower manure moisture and reduced ammonia emissions are project priorities.

Product FAQ

Q: How does the manure belt system work?

A: Manure falls onto belts beneath the cage tiers. The belts periodically transport the manure to the end of the cage row for transfer to a cross conveyor or external removal system.

Q: Can the system reduce ammonia inside the poultry house?

A: Frequent manure removal reduces the amount of manure stored inside the building. Optional manure belt ventilation can further promote drying and help reduce ammonia emissions.

Q: Can manure belt tracking be automated?

A: Yes. Sensor-based automatic belt adjustment can be integrated to maintain straighter belt operation and reduce manual adjustment.

Q: Can the manure be conveyed directly outside the poultry house?

A: Yes. Longitudinal cage belts can discharge onto transverse and inclined conveyors that transport manure outside the building.

Q: Is the system suitable for different cage tiers?

A: Yes. Belt width, length, drive capacity and number of tiers can be designed according to the selected poultry cage system.

Q: Can SHEWUYOU supply a complete poultry manure handling solution?

A: Yes. Manure belts, cross conveyors, inclined conveyors, drying systems, controls and downstream manure handling equipment can be configured according to project requirements.
