Product Overview

The Poultry Water Medicator System is an inline dosing solution designed to introduce accurately controlled quantities of water-soluble treatments, vitamins, nutritional supplements, organic acids and other compatible additives into poultry drinking water.

The system can be installed in the poultry-house service room between the main water supply and the nipple drinking lines. A complete water connection unit can combine filtration, pressure reduction, a water meter, bypass valves and the medicator in one compact assembly.

Water-powered proportional medicators use the actual water flow to determine injection quantity, allowing the dosing ratio to remain proportional as flock consumption changes. Electric dosing configurations are also available for projects requiring electronic control, broader adjustment ranges or integration with poultry-house management systems.

Key Features
  • Proportional Dosing: Additive injection follows actual drinking-water consumption for consistent concentration throughout the treatment period.
  • Water-Powered Option: Mechanical proportional dosing configurations can operate without electricity.
  • Electric Dosing Option: Electronic systems can use water-meter signals to regulate injection according to real-time water flow.
  • Adjustable Dosing Ratio: Different dosing ranges are available for medication, supplementation and compatible water-treatment programs.
  • Inline Installation: Integrates directly into poultry water connection units and nipple drinking systems.
  • Bypass Configuration: Three-valve bypass arrangements allow the medicator to be isolated during maintenance or normal untreated water supply.
  • Water Filtration: Upstream filtration helps protect the dosing pump and poultry nipple valves from debris.
  • Compact Service-Room Layout: Modular construction is suitable for new farms and drinking-system renovation projects.
  • Mixing Tank Option: A separate agitated preparation tank can be supplied for compatible powders or higher-viscosity soluble products.
  • Easy Maintenance: Accessible seals, suction components and service kits simplify regular inspection and replacement.

Working Principle / Structural Principle

Water first passes through the filtration and pressure-control section before entering the medicator bypass. During dosing operation, water flows through the proportional dosing pump.

In a water-powered medicator, water movement drives the internal hydraulic motor. The pump simultaneously draws concentrated solution through the suction hose and injects a preset proportion into the water stream.

Because the dosing quantity follows the actual water flow, the concentration remains proportional even when flock water consumption changes during the day.

Electric dosing systems can use data from an electronic water meter to calculate the required injection rate. The treated water then flows toward the poultry nipple lines where the solution is distributed with the drinking water.

The final system should be selected according to poultry-house water consumption, target dosing ratio, water pressure, additive compatibility and local project requirements.

Installation & Maintenance

Service-Room Installation: Install the medicator between the main farm water supply and the poultry-house drinking lines in an accessible, frost-protected location.

Confirm Flow Direction: Install the dosing pump according to the indicated direction of water flow.

Install Filtration: Position an appropriate water filter upstream of the medicator. Additional filtration may be required downstream when using compatible but difficult-to-dissolve products.

Use a Bypass: Install suitable isolation valves so untreated water can continue flowing while the medicator is serviced.

Prepare Concentrate Correctly: Only use products approved for administration through drinking water and prepare them according to the product label, veterinary instructions and applicable regulations.

Check Solubility: The treatment solution must remain sufficiently dissolved for the selected drinking and dosing system.

Set the Dosing Ratio: Adjust the injector according to the required concentration and actual flock water consumption.

Daily Inspection: During treatment, check suction, water flow and concentrate consumption to confirm correct operation.

Rinse After Use: Thoroughly rinse and clean the medicator and drinking line after treatment according to the equipment instructions and treatment protocol.

Routine Servicing: Inspect seals, suction hose, strainer, bypass valves and moving components regularly and replace worn service parts when required.

Project Cases

In a commercial broiler house, the medicator can be installed on a centralized water connection unit so supplements or approved water-soluble treatments are injected proportionally as the flock consumes drinking water.

For multi-house poultry farms, individual medicators can be installed for separate houses, allowing different flocks to receive independent drinking-water programs.

Electric dosing systems can be combined with electronic water meters and farm-management controls where operators require more advanced monitoring and automatic dosage adjustment.

Product FAQ

Q1: How does a poultry water medicator work?
The medicator draws concentrated solution into the drinking-water stream and meters it proportionally according to water flow or an electronic dosing command.

Q2: Does a mechanical medicator require electricity?
No. Water-powered proportional dosing pumps use the energy of the flowing water to operate.

Q3: Does the dosing concentration remain stable when birds drink more water?
A correctly configured proportional system changes additive injection with the water flow, helping maintain the selected dosing ratio.

Q4: Can vitamins and supplements be dosed through the system?
Yes, provided the selected product is compatible with the dosing pump and approved for administration through drinking water.

Q5: Can medication be administered through poultry nipple lines?
Compatible water-soluble veterinary products may be administered where permitted, following the product label, veterinary direction and applicable regulations.

Q6: What dosing ranges are available?
Comparable professional systems cover ranges from low-percentage electronic dosing up to several percent, depending on the selected pump.

Q7: Why is a bypass required?
A bypass allows the medicator to be isolated for maintenance while maintaining normal water supply to the poultry house.

Q8: Is a mixing tank available?
Yes. An agitated mixing tank can be supplied for compatible soluble powders or solutions requiring continuous mixing.

Q9: Should the system be cleaned after dosing?
Yes. The medicator and drinking lines should be rinsed according to the equipment instructions and farm treatment protocol after use.

Q10: Can the complete medicator station be customized?
Yes. Dosing range, flow capacity, water meter, filtration, bypass, mixing tank and control system can be configured according to project requirements.
