Product Name Poultry Nipple Drinking System
Product Image poultry nipple drinking system in broiler house
Product Overview

The Poultry Nipple Drinking System is an automatic closed-line water supply solution designed for broilers, pullets, layers and breeder poultry. It delivers drinking water directly through nipple valves while helping minimize open-water contamination and unnecessary water loss inside the poultry house.

The complete drinking line typically includes stainless steel nipple drinkers, water pipes, pressure regulators, flushing or breather units, supporting profiles, suspension equipment and optional drip cups. The line can be raised or lowered as birds grow, allowing the drinking height to be matched to flock age and body size.

Different nipple configurations can be selected according to bird type, climate and management requirements. 360-degree nipples are especially suitable for growing birds because they can be actuated from different directions, while vertical-actuation nipples can be selected for applications requiring different flow characteristics.

Key Features
  • Closed Drinking System: Helps protect drinking water from litter, feed, dust and environmental contamination.
  • Automatic Water Supply: Birds receive water immediately when they actuate the nipple valve.
  • 360° Nipple Option: Suitable for young and growing poultry that may activate the nipple from different directions.
  • Vertical-Actuation Option: Available for selected layer and breeder applications according to flow requirements.
  • Stainless Steel Nipple Components: Corrosion-resistant nipple configurations provide reliable operation in demanding poultry-house environments.
  • Pressure Regulation: Regulators maintain an appropriate operating pressure along the drinking line.
  • Optional Drip Cups: Help collect occasional water droplets and support drier litter conditions.
  • Flushable Water Line: Flushing units allow rapid water replacement and routine line sanitation.
  • Adjustable Line Height: Suspension equipment allows the drinking line to follow bird growth from chick placement to market age.
  • Anti-Roost Protection: Support profiles and anti-roost components help prevent birds from sitting on the water line.

Working Principle / Structural Principle

Filtered water enters the drinking line through the water supply and pressure-regulation unit. The regulator reduces and stabilizes line pressure so the nipple valves can operate within the required range.

When a bird touches or pushes the nipple pin, the internal valve opens and releases drinking water. Once the bird stops actuating the nipple, the valve closes automatically.

360-degree nipple configurations can respond to both vertical and lateral actuation, making water easier to access for young birds. Other nipple types are designed primarily for vertical actuation and can be selected according to bird category and required flow characteristics.

The end-of-line flushing unit allows higher-volume water flow during sanitation and flushing, helping replace warm or stagnant water and remove residues from the drinking pipe.

Installation & Maintenance

Line Layout: Determine the number and location of drinking lines according to poultry house width, bird population and drinking access requirements.

Suspension Installation: Install ceiling suspension points and supporting wires at suitable intervals so the water pipe remains straight and level.

Pressure Regulator Installation: Position the regulator at the line inlet and set the operating pressure according to nipple type and bird age.

Height Adjustment: Set nipple height so birds reach upward comfortably to activate the valve. Raise the line progressively as the flock grows.

Pipeline Flushing: Flush the complete drinking system before chick placement and regularly during production to remove residues and refresh standing water.

Water Quality: Maintain suitable filtration and sanitation to reduce mineral deposits, biofilm and nipple blockage.

Leak Inspection: Check nipples, pipe joints, regulators and end units regularly for dripping or abnormal water loss.

Between Flocks: Clean and disinfect the drinking lines according to the farm sanitation program and verify nipple operation before the next flock is placed.

Project Cases

In commercial broiler houses, several parallel nipple drinking lines can be installed between automatic pan feeding lines to provide uniform water access across the entire flock.

For broiler breeder and pullet facilities, nipple type, flow characteristics and line height can be selected according to bird size and production stage.

In large steel structure poultry houses, drinking lines can be suspended from the roof structure and connected to centralized lifting systems so all lines can be raised for litter preparation, cleaning and flock removal.

Product FAQ

Q1: How does a poultry nipple drinking system work?
Birds push the nipple valve with their beak, opening the internal mechanism and releasing drinking water. The valve closes automatically when actuation stops.

Q2: What is the difference between 360° and vertical nipples?
A 360-degree nipple can be activated from several directions, while a vertical nipple is designed primarily for upward actuation.

Q3: Are 360° nipples suitable for broilers?
Yes. They are widely used for growing poultry because young birds can activate them more easily from different directions.

Q4: Are drip cups required?
Not always. The requirement depends on nipple design, water flow, bird type, climate and litter-management goals.

Q5: Can water pressure be adjusted?
Yes. A pressure regulator controls the operating pressure supplied to the drinking line.

Q6: Can the line be flushed?
Yes. Flushing units allow fresh water to move rapidly through the line during cleaning and routine management.

Q7: Can medication be supplied through the system?
Yes. A compatible dosing or medicator unit can be installed in the water supply according to farm management requirements.

Q8: Can the drinking line height be changed?
Yes. Suspended systems can be raised progressively as birds grow and lifted higher during house cleaning.

Q9: How is nipple spacing selected?
Spacing depends on poultry type, bird capacity, house layout and drinking-system design requirements.

Q10: Can the complete drinking system be customized?
Yes. Nipple type, spacing, line length, regulator, flushing system, drip cups and suspension equipment can be configured according to project requirements.
