Product Overview

The Stainless Steel Poultry Nipple Drinker is a precision water-control valve designed for automatic poultry drinking lines in broiler, layer, pullet and breeder production. Manufactured with corrosion-resistant stainless steel components, the nipple provides dependable water delivery while helping maintain a closed and hygienic drinking system.

When a bird actuates the lower pin, the internal valve opens and releases water. After the bird stops drinking, the valve returns to its sealing position automatically. Depending on the selected configuration, nipples may operate by vertical actuation or by both vertical and lateral movement.

Different flow-rate configurations can be selected according to bird age, housing system, climate and whether a drip cup is used. This allows the drinking system to be adapted from chick rearing through adult poultry production.

Key Features
  • Stainless Steel Construction: Corrosion-resistant valve components support long service life in humid poultry-house environments.
  • Automatic Water Delivery: Water is released only when the bird actuates the nipple.
  • Reliable Sealing: Precision valve seating helps minimize unnecessary dripping at low operating pressure.
  • Multiple Flow Options: Standard and reduced-flow configurations can be selected according to poultry type and management requirements.
  • Vertical or Multi-Direction Actuation: Different nipple structures are available for layers, breeders, broilers and rearing birds.
  • Closed Drinking System: Helps reduce contamination from feed, litter and dust compared with open drinking containers.
  • Low Maintenance: Simple valve structure minimizes the number of sensitive external components.
  • Drip Cup Compatibility: Standard-flow models can be combined with suitable drip cups to support dry litter management.
  • Reduced-Flow Option: Selected nipple models are suitable for use without a drip cup where properly configured.
  • Automatic Line Integration: Suitable for use with regulators, drinking pipes, flushing systems and suspended poultry drinking lines.
Structural Components
  • Stainless steel nipple body
  • Threaded or push-fit connection according to configuration
  • Upper valve pin
  • Lower actuating pin
  • Precision valve seat
  • Internal sealing surfaces
  • Water inlet passage
  • Optional plastic support housing
  • Optional drip cup
  • Optional pipe sealing component
Working Principle / Structural Principle

The nipple drinker is installed into the poultry water pipe and supplied with low-pressure drinking water through a regulator.

When a bird pushes the lower pin upward, or sideways on compatible models, the internal valve opens and allows water to flow directly to the bird's beak.

When the actuating force is removed, the valve returns to its closed position. The precision seating surfaces are designed to maintain reliable sealing while allowing lightweight operation suitable for poultry.

Reduced-flow versions can limit unnecessary water discharge, while higher-flow models can be paired with drip cups where greater water availability is required.

Installation & Maintenance

Pipe Compatibility: Confirm the nipple thread or push-fit specification before installation into the poultry drinking pipe.

Correct Sealing: Install threaded nipples carefully to maintain correct alignment and avoid damage to the valve body or pipe connection.

Pressure Adjustment: Set the drinking-line regulator according to bird age, nipple model and required water flow.

Line Height: Position the nipple so birds stretch slightly upward to drink. Adjust the line progressively as birds grow.

System Flushing: Flush new and existing drinking lines regularly to remove sediment and maintain water hygiene.

Water Quality: Use properly filtered drinking water to reduce deposits and contamination inside the nipple valve.

Leak Inspection: Check for continuous dripping, blocked movement or abnormal flow and replace damaged components where necessary.

Between Flocks: Clean and disinfect the complete drinking system according to the farm sanitation program before the next flock enters the house.

Project Cases

In commercial broiler houses, stainless steel side-action nipples can be installed along suspended drinking lines to provide easy water access from chick placement through final grow-out.

For layer cages and aviary systems, vertical-action stainless steel nipples can provide controlled drinking water while minimizing unnecessary splashing around feed and manure areas.

In breeder facilities, nipple flow rate, drip-cup configuration and birds-per-nipple ratio can be selected according to the flock type, house layout and local production requirements.

Product FAQ

Q1: How does a stainless steel poultry nipple drinker work?
The bird pushes the lower valve pin, allowing water to flow. The valve closes automatically when the bird stops actuating it.

Q2: Is the complete nipple made from stainless steel?
Full stainless steel configurations are available, while some alternative models use stainless steel valve components combined with durable polymer housings.

Q3: Can the nipple be activated sideways?
Yes. Selected stainless steel nipple designs allow both vertical and lateral actuation, while other models operate vertically only.

Q4: What is the reference flow rate?
Comparable stainless steel models range from approximately 40–90 cm³/min for common vertical-action configurations, depending on model and water pressure.

Q5: Can a reduced-flow nipple be used without a drip cup?
Yes. Comparable reduced-flow models are specifically designed for applications without drip cups when the drinking system is correctly configured.

Q6: Are drip cups available?
Yes. Suitable drip cups can be supplied for standard-flow nipple configurations.

Q7: Is the nipple suitable for broilers?
Yes. Appropriate side-action or multi-direction configurations can be selected for commercial broiler drinking systems.

Q8: Can it be used for layers?
Yes. Stainless steel vertical-action nipples are widely used in layer cage and alternative housing systems.

Q9: Why is line height important?
Correct drinking height allows birds to operate the nipple naturally while helping reduce unnecessary water spillage.

Q10: Can nipple specifications be customized?
Yes. Flow rate, actuation method, connection type, nipple spacing and drip-cup configuration can be selected according to project requirements.
