The Ceramic Lamb Heat Emitter is a light-free infrared radiant heating element designed to provide localized warmth for newborn lambs, goat kids, piglets and other young livestock. Unlike conventional illuminated heat bulbs, the ceramic element produces heat without visible light, making it suitable for continuous day-and-night warming where a normal lighting cycle is preferred.

The ceramic heating element converts electrical energy into infrared radiant heat and directs warmth toward the animal resting zone. Common screw-base configurations use an E27 connection and can be installed in a compatible high-temperature ceramic lamp holder or guarded livestock heat-lamp fixture.

Working Principle / Structural Principle

Electrical current passes through the internal resistance element and heats the ceramic body. The heated ceramic surface then releases infrared radiant energy toward the animal resting area.

Because the emitter does not depend on visible-light production, electrical energy is used primarily for heat generation. The radiant heat warms animals and nearby surfaces directly and can therefore be used to establish a localized microclimate within a larger lambing or nursery building.

Heating intensity at animal level depends on emitter wattage, suspension height, fixture design, room temperature, airflow and pen geometry. A suitable thermostat or temperature controller is recommended where precise environmental control is required.

Installation & Maintenance

Installation:

  1. Install the emitter only in a heat-resistant ceramic socket rated for the selected wattage and voltage.
  2. Use a guarded livestock heating fixture to reduce contact with animals, bedding and other combustible materials.
  3. Suspend the fixture securely from the designated mounting point rather than from the electrical cable.
  4. Position electrical wiring outside the reach of lambs, ewes and other livestock.
  5. Maintain adequate clearance between the hot emitter and straw, bedding, timber, plastic partitions and other combustible materials.
  6. Adjust mounting height according to emitter output, ambient temperature and animal behavior.
