Lamb Warming Box

Product Name Lamb Warming Box
Product Image lamb warming box for newborn lambs
Product Overview

The Lamb Warming Box is a practical livestock care unit designed to provide a protected, controlled warm-air environment for newborn, chilled, weak or low-vigour lambs during the critical period after birth.

Warm air is circulated through the enclosed chamber to create a more stable microclimate than an open lambing pen. The enclosed structure helps reduce exposure to cold draughts while allowing farm personnel to manage several lambs efficiently during busy lambing periods.

A two-compartment configuration allows two lambs to be managed separately, while the removable internal divider can create a larger recovery space when required. The unit is suitable for commercial goat-farming-equipment/" target="_blank" class="keylink">sheep farms, lambing sheds, livestock hospitals and intensive lamb-rearing facilities.

Key Features
  • Continuous warm-air circulation: Provides a stable heated environment around newborn or chilled lambs.
  • Two-compartment design: Allows individual separation of lambs during warming and observation.
  • Removable divider: The internal partition can be removed to create a larger compartment for bigger lambs or different management requirements.
  • Durable plastic construction: Suitable for repeated seasonal use in demanding sheep-farm environments.
  • Easy-clean surfaces: Smooth panels simplify washing and sanitation between animals.
  • Separate heater compartment: The warm-air source is positioned away from the animal chamber for safer heat distribution.
  • Ventilated interior: Openings within the enclosure help distribute heated air through the animal compartments.
  • Compact footprint: Suitable for installation close to lambing pens, maternity areas and livestock treatment zones.
  • Project adaptability: Dimensions, compartment arrangement and heating configuration can be adapted according to project requirements.
Structural Components
  • Durable plastic enclosure panels
  • Two internal lamb compartments
  • Removable central partition
  • Ventilated or slotted internal base
  • Warm-air inlet and circulation openings
  • Convector or fan-assisted heating unit
  • Heater protection compartment
  • Access lid or upper inspection opening
  • Ventilation openings
  • Assembly fasteners and support fittings
Working Principle

The heating unit generates warm air that enters the enclosed lamb chamber through dedicated ventilation openings. The airflow circulates around the animal and raises the surrounding air temperature gradually, helping provide a controlled warming environment.

Compared with an open heat-lamp arrangement, the enclosed chamber reduces direct exposure to cold air and creates a more uniform warm zone. The removable partition allows the available internal space to be adjusted according to lamb size and farm management requirements.

Installation & Maintenance

Position the warming box on a stable, dry and level surface close to the lambing area. Keep the electrical heater and power connection protected from water, bedding accumulation and accidental impact.

Before operation, confirm that the air inlet, outlet and internal ventilation openings are unobstructed. The heater should be operated according to its electrical rating and applicable livestock-building electrical safety requirements.

After each use, remove bedding and organic material, wash the internal surfaces and allow the box to dry before the next animal is introduced. Periodically inspect the heater, cable, ventilation openings, divider and panel fasteners for damage or excessive contamination.

Project Cases

Lamb warming boxes are commonly positioned beside maternity pens so newborn lambs requiring additional warmth can be moved into a protected heating chamber without transferring them to a distant livestock building.

For larger commercial sheep operations, multiple units can be arranged in a dedicated lamb-care area together with lamb feeding equipment, treatment tables, weighing systems and cleaning facilities to improve workflow during peak lambing periods.
