IPX7 Waterproof Infrared Lamb Heater

Product Name IPX7 Waterproof Infrared Lamb Heater
Product Image lamb warming under infrared livestock heat lamp
Product Overview

The IPX7 Waterproof Infrared Lamb Heater is a professional radiant heating solution designed to provide localized thermal comfort for newborn lambs, weak animals and young livestock in lambing sheds, nursery pens and commercial livestock buildings.

Unlike conventional bright infrared bulbs, this type of heater uses a durable carbon heating tube to produce gentle infrared radiation with very low visible light output. The resulting warm-zone effect helps maintain body temperature while creating a calmer resting environment for young animals.

Its IPX7 water-protection design is particularly suitable for demanding farm environments where equipment is exposed to moisture, dust and routine barn cleaning. The heater can be integrated into goat-farming-equipment/" target="_blank" class="keylink">sheep houses, lambing areas, piglet creep zones, calf pens and other livestock housing projects according to local climate and production requirements.

Key Features
  • IPX7 waterproof protection: Designed for high-moisture livestock environments and suitable for intensive barn cleaning procedures.
  • Carbon infrared heating tube: More resistant to vibration than conventional tungsten filaments and suitable for continuous agricultural operation.
  • Long operating life: Carbon heating elements of this type can provide service life up to approximately 15,000 operating hours under appropriate operating conditions.
  • Two-stage heat control: OFF, approximately 50% output and 100% output settings provide practical control for different animal ages and seasonal conditions.
  • LED operating indication: Allows farm personnel to identify the selected heating mode from a distance.
  • Low-glare heating: Carbon infrared technology produces significantly less visible light than traditional high-brightness infrared lamps.
  • Uniform radiant heat distribution: Reflector geometry spreads heat over the intended resting area rather than concentrating excessive temperature at one central point.
  • Suitable for young livestock: Applicable to lambs, piglets, goat kids, calves, chicks and other young or temperature-sensitive animals.
  • Commercial farm compatibility: Suitable for new livestock-house construction, renovation projects and replacement of conventional hanging heat lamps.
Structural Components
  • Water-resistant heater housing
  • Infrared carbon heating tube
  • Heat-reflective metal shield
  • Protective lower guard
  • Multi-position power selector
  • LED operating indicator
  • Electrical supply cable and plug
  • Upper suspension point
  • Replaceable carbon heating element
Working Principle

Electrical energy is converted into infrared radiant heat through the carbon heating tube. The reflector directs the infrared energy downward toward the animal resting zone, producing localized warmth without the need to heat the entire livestock building to the same temperature.

The adjustable power setting allows the heating intensity to be reduced as animals grow or ambient temperature increases. This zoning concept is particularly suitable for lambing pens and creep areas because young animals can move toward or away from the heated area according to their thermal requirements.

Installation & Maintenance

The heater is normally suspended vertically above the lamb resting area using a secure chain or approved suspension system. Installation height should be selected according to heater output, barn temperature, animal age, pen arrangement and the temperature measured at animal level.

Maintain sufficient clearance from bedding, straw, timber, plastic panels, curtains, feed and other combustible materials. Electrical installation must comply with applicable local agricultural building and livestock-house safety regulations.

Regularly inspect the suspension point, power cable, plug, reflector, guard and carbon heating element. Disconnect the electrical supply before inspection or component replacement. The IPX7 construction simplifies cleaning in high-hygiene livestock facilities, but cleaning procedures should always follow the supplied electrical and safety instructions.

Project Cases

Typical project configurations include infrared heaters suspended above individual lambing pens, group lamb nursery areas or dedicated warm zones within insulated sheep houses.

For commercial farm construction, heater quantity, installation spacing, suspension height and electrical distribution should be calculated according to building insulation, ventilation rate, minimum winter temperature, animal stocking density and required microclimate conditions.

Product FAQ

Q: What does IPX7 mean for a livestock heater?

A: IPX7 indicates protection against temporary immersion in water under defined test conditions. This makes the heater particularly suitable for wet and frequently cleaned livestock environments.

Q: Is this heater suitable only for lambs?

A: No. It can also be used for piglets, goat kids, calves, chicks and other young livestock requiring localized supplementary heat.

Q: Why use a carbon heating tube?

A: Carbon heating elements provide infrared radiant heat with low visible brightness, good vibration resistance and a long operating life compared with many conventional tungsten-based heat lamps.

Q: Can the heating level be adjusted?

A: Yes. Reference configurations provide OFF, reduced-output and full-output operating positions, allowing heat input to be adapted to animal age and ambient conditions.

Q: How high should the heater be installed?

A: Installation height depends on heater output, ambient temperature, pen dimensions and the required temperature at animal level. Final positioning should be determined according to actual farm conditions and applicable safety instructions.

Q: Can SHEWUYOU supply heaters for complete sheep-farm projects?

A: Yes. Heating equipment can be coordinated with pens, lambing systems, ventilation, insulation and other livestock equipment according to project requirements.
