Safety Guard Lamb Heat Lamp

Product Name Safety Guard Lamb Heat Lamp
Product Image safety guard lamb heat lamp
Product Overview

The Safety Guard Lamb Heat Lamp is a heavy-duty radiant heating unit designed to provide a localized warm zone for newborn, weak, chilled or recovering lambs and goat kids. Its protective grille and reinforced heat-resistant housing help keep animals separated from the hot infrared bulb during operation.

The reference design uses a robust glass-reinforced plastic housing, ceramic lamp fixture, secure suspension point and reinforced electrical cord. Compatible standard or infrared heat-lamp bulbs up to 250 W can be used, allowing heating output to be selected according to livestock type and environmental conditions.

The lamp is suitable for lambing pens, kidding areas, creep zones, livestock nurseries and other commercial animal housing applications where targeted radiant heating is more efficient than heating the entire building.

Key Features
  • Heavy-Duty Protective Grille: Helps prevent animals from contacting or damaging the infrared bulb.
  • Heat-Resistant Housing: Reinforced enclosure is designed for demanding livestock and barn environments.
  • Up to 250W Bulb Compatibility: Suitable for compatible standard or infrared heating bulbs rated up to 250 W.
  • Ceramic Lamp Fixture: Heat-resistant socket provides reliable support for high-temperature livestock heat bulbs.
  • Secure Suspension Design: Dedicated top mounting point allows safe hanging from suitable clips, chains or structural supports.
  • Protected Power Cord: Reference configuration includes spring-wire reinforcement to improve resistance to chewing and mechanical wear.
  • Localized Radiant Heating: Concentrates heat around the animal resting area instead of warming the complete livestock house.
  • Red or Clear Bulb Options: Compatible infrared bulb configurations can be selected according to farm requirements.
  • Safety-Oriented Construction: Guarded bulb area and secure hanging system reduce exposure to direct livestock contact.
  • Project Adaptability: Voltage, plug type, cord length, bulb selection and suspension arrangement can be customized according to project requirements.
Structural Components
Reinforced Housing Heat-resistant enclosure supporting the lamp fixture and protective guard.
Protective Grille Heavy-duty lower guard helps separate livestock from the hot bulb.
Ceramic Socket Heat-resistant lamp holder for compatible infrared or standard heat bulbs.
Suspension Point Top fixing point designed for secure hanging with suitable hardware.
Reinforced Power Cord Electrical cable with mechanical protection in the reference configuration.
Safety Tilt Switch Selected current configurations incorporate an automatic safety shut-off mechanism if the lamp tilts excessively.
Infrared Bulb Red or clear heating bulb available according to selected product configuration.
Working Principle / Structural Principle

The infrared bulb converts electrical energy into radiant heat. The suspended lamp creates a concentrated warming area beneath the fixture where newborn or chilled livestock can rest.

The protective grille surrounds the bulb area and helps prevent direct animal contact, while the reinforced housing supports the socket and electrical components. Animals can move closer to or farther from the heated zone according to their thermal requirements.

Heat intensity depends on bulb wattage, suspension height, ambient temperature, ventilation rate and the dimensions of the warming area.

Installation & Maintenance

Installation:

  1. Suspend the heat lamp from the dedicated top mounting point using a secure clip, chain or suitable fastener.
  2. Do not suspend or support the heater by its electrical cable.
  3. Keep the lamp away from straw, bedding, timber, plastic panels and other combustible materials.
  4. Maintain sufficient distance between the lamp and animals; approximately 20 in minimum is recommended for the reference configuration.
  5. Route the electrical cord outside the reach of livestock.
  6. Secure the protective grille correctly before operation.
  7. Use only compatible bulbs not exceeding the maximum rated wattage.
  8. Electrical installation should comply with applicable livestock-building electrical regulations.

Maintenance:

  • Disconnect electrical power before cleaning, inspection or bulb replacement.
  • Allow the bulb and lamp housing to cool before handling.
  • Inspect the cable, plug, ceramic socket, suspension hardware and safety grille regularly.
  • Remove dust, cobwebs and bedding particles from the lamp housing and guard.
  • Replace damaged bulbs or worn electrical components immediately.
  • Do not operate the heater with a missing or damaged protective guard.
  • Remove damaged electrical equipment from service until inspected or repaired.
Product FAQ

Q1: What is the maximum bulb wattage?

The reference lamp accepts compatible standard or infrared bulbs up to 250 W.

Q2: Why does the lamp use a protective grille?

The grille helps separate animals from the hot bulb and reduces the risk of impact damage during livestock movement.

Q3: Can both red and clear infrared bulbs be used?

Yes. Compatible red or clear infrared bulbs can be selected according to livestock management requirements.

Q4: How far should the lamp be from lambs?

The reference manufacturer recommends keeping the lamp at least approximately 20 in from the highest point of lambs or goat kids.

Q5: Can it be used for goat kids or piglets?

Yes. Guarded livestock heat lamps can also provide localized warming for goat kids, piglets, chicks and other young animals.

Q6: Can the lamp be hung by the electrical cord?
