The feeder is connected to a clean water supply and suitable electrical service. Milk replacer powder is loaded into the storage hopper, while the integrated boiler heats water and the temperature control system monitors preparation conditions. When feed is required, the machine meters predetermined quantities of milk powder and heated water into the mixer. The ingredients are blended into a uniform portion and made available to the suction system. Up to six milk hoses connect the central feeder to separate teat stations. When lambs or goat kids nurse at these stations, freshly prepared feed is available without requiring workers to mix and distribute individual bottles.
