Product Overview

The Cross Egg Conveyor System is a centralized egg transportation solution designed to receive eggs from longitudinal collection belts, elevators or lift systems and convey them across multiple cage rows toward a central collection, grading or packing area.

In a commercial layer house, eggs are first transported along the cage rows by longitudinal egg belts. At the end of each row, an elevator or transfer unit delivers the eggs to the cross conveyor. The cross conveyor then combines the egg flow from multiple rows and moves the eggs toward the required downstream handling equipment.

The system can be configured for A-type and H-type layer cage houses, multi-tier installations and large steel structure poultry buildings. Conveyor length, route, elevation changes, transfer sections, drive configuration and connection to egg graders or packers can be engineered according to the farm layout and project requirements.

Key Features
  • Centralized Egg Transport: Combines egg flow from multiple cage rows into one coordinated collection route.
  • Gentle Egg Handling: Conveyor and transfer components are designed to minimize sudden drops, impacts and unnecessary egg-to-egg contact.
  • Multi-Row Integration: Suitable for connecting several longitudinal egg collection lines within one poultry house.
  • Flexible Farm Layout: Straight, inclined, curved and height-transition sections can be selected according to building configuration.
  • Automatic Operation: Reduces manual carrying and repetitive egg handling in commercial layer farms.
  • Continuous Transfer: Provides an organized flow from cage-row collection systems to central egg handling equipment.
  • Compatible with Elevators: Can receive eggs from vertical elevators and lift-type collection systems.
  • Downstream Integration: Can connect with collection tables, egg counters, graders, packers and centralized egg rooms.
  • Corrosion-Resistant Structure: Galvanized steel structural components are available for demanding poultry-house environments.
  • Adjustable System Capacity: Conveyor dimensions and operating speed can be configured according to flock size and production requirements.
  • Reduced Labor Requirement: Supports automated egg movement from production rows to centralized handling areas.
  • Turnkey Project Compatibility: Suitable for integration into complete poultry cage and automatic egg collection projects.

Working Principle

Eggs laid in the cages roll onto the longitudinal egg belts and travel toward the end of each cage row. An elevator, lift or transfer mechanism moves the eggs from the longitudinal belts to the cross collection level.

At the transfer point, eggs are distributed onto the cross conveyor with controlled movement. The conveyor transports the combined egg flow across the cage rows toward a central collection table, egg room, grading line or packing system.

For buildings with different equipment elevations or complex layouts, inclined and curved conveyor sections can be incorporated to bridge horizontal and vertical differences while maintaining continuous egg transport.

Conveyor speed and collection sequence can be coordinated with longitudinal belts and elevators to maintain an appropriate egg flow and reduce congestion at transfer points.

Installation & Maintenance

Cross egg conveyors should be installed according to the cage-row arrangement and the elevation of the longitudinal egg belts, elevators and downstream collection equipment. Accurate alignment at every transfer point is important for smooth egg movement.

  • Confirm poultry-house dimensions and cage-row centerlines before installation.
  • Determine the required conveyor route and discharge location before assembling the frame.
  • Level and align the conveyor supports to maintain smooth egg transfer.
  • Connect elevator or longitudinal collection outlets carefully to the cross conveyor inlet.
  • Minimize unnecessary height differences at transfer points.
  • Adjust conveyor tension according to the equipment specification.
  • Verify drive motor rotation before loading eggs onto the conveyor.
  • Test all transfer points at low operating speed during commissioning.
  • Inspect belts, rods, chains, bearings and guide components regularly.
  • Remove broken eggs, feathers and debris from conveyor surfaces promptly.
  • Check gearbox and drive components according to the maintenance schedule.
  • Inspect electrical cables, switches, sensors and emergency controls regularly.
  • Maintain protective guards around rotating and transmission components.
  • Clean the conveyor between production cycles according to the farm sanitation program.
Product FAQ

Q1: What is the main function of a cross egg conveyor?

It receives eggs from multiple cage rows and transports the combined egg flow toward a centralized collection, grading or packing area.

Q2: Can the system connect several layer cage rows?

Yes. Cross collection is specifically suited to combining egg flow from multiple longitudinal collection lines within a poultry house.

Q3: Is it compatible with H-type layer cages?

Yes. The conveyor can be integrated with compatible H-type multi-tier cage systems as well as A-type and other commercial layer housing configurations.

Q4: Can the conveyor handle changes in floor level?

Yes. Inclined, curved or combined conveyor sections can be engineered where the poultry-house layout requires changes in direction or elevation.

Q5: Can it connect directly to an egg grader or packer?

Yes. The discharge section can be configured to feed compatible grading, counting, packing or centralized egg handling equipment.

Q6: How is the required conveyor capacity determined?

Capacity should be selected according to flock size, laying performance, number of cage rows, number of tiers and the operating speed of upstream egg collection equipment.

Q7: Can the conveyor be added to an existing poultry house?
