Multi-Silo Weighing Monitoring System

Product Name Multi-Silo Weighing Monitoring System
Product Image multi-silo weighing monitoring system controller
Product Overview

The Multi-Silo Weighing Monitoring System is designed for centralized management of feed inventory across multiple storage silos in commercial pig farms, poultry farms and integrated livestock production facilities.

Each silo can be equipped with a dedicated weighing module connected to load cells installed beneath the silo support structure. Individual silo weight data is transmitted to the central monitoring computer, allowing operators to view current stock information for each silo as well as combined inventory information.

The system supports feed-stock monitoring, accumulated feed data, alarm management and integration with compatible feeding equipment. It is suitable for new pig farm construction, livestock equipment upgrades and steel structure building projects requiring centralized and traceable feed management.

Key Features
  • Multi-Silo Centralized Monitoring: A single monitoring computer can receive weighing information from multiple feed silos.
  • Up to 16 Silo Weighers: The reference system architecture supports communication with a maximum of 16 individual silo weighing modules.
  • Current Feed Stock Display: Operators can review individual silo contents and combined feed inventory information.
  • Accumulated Feed Counters: Up to 16 counters can be configured for feed quantities, bulk filling data and other accumulated measurements.
  • Alarm Management: Individual counter alarms can warn of low silo stock, insufficient supply rate or abnormal stock loss.
  • Feed Ingredient Management: The reference controller supports configuration of up to 8 feed ingredients.
  • Historical Overview: Weekly data overviews support operational analysis and feed-management decisions.
  • Power-Failure Memory: Stored settings are retained if mains power is interrupted.
  • Expandable Farm Integration: The weighing system can be linked with compatible feed management computers and feed weighers.
  • Suitable for Commercial Farms: Designed for centralized feed-storage management in large-scale livestock production environments.
Structural Components
  • Central Weighing Computer: Receives and processes weighing data from multiple silo weighing modules.
  • Silo Weighing Modules: Installed for individual silos and responsible for collecting load-cell measurement data.
  • Load Cells: Installed at silo load-bearing points to measure the mechanical weight of the silo and stored feed.
  • Load Cell Mounting Assemblies: Provide controlled force transfer between silo support legs and weighing sensors.
  • Communication Network: Connects individual silo weighing modules with the central controller.
  • Display and Keypad: Provides local access to silo stock, counters, alarm information and system settings.
  • Optional Remote Display: Allows current silo contents to be viewed at an additional installation point.
  • Optional Farm Management Interface: Enables connection with compatible feeding and farm-management systems.
Working Principle

Load cells installed beneath the support points of each feed silo continuously respond to changes in the total supported weight. The individual silo weighing module receives these signals and calculates the current silo weight.

Weight information from each silo is transmitted through the communication network to the central weighing computer. The controller organizes the measurements by silo and provides individual and combined inventory information.

Accumulated counters can be used to register feed quantities and bulk deliveries. Alarm limits can also be assigned to selected counters so that abnormal conditions such as low stock, insufficient feed supply rate or unexpected feed loss can be identified quickly.

When integrated with a compatible feed management computer and feed weigher, the system can become part of a complete automatic feeding and feed-cost management solution.

Installation & Maintenance

Silo Structure Inspection: Confirm that silo foundations, supporting legs and steel structures are mechanically suitable for installation of the selected load-cell weighing modules.

Load Cell Installation: Each load-bearing point should transfer silo weight through the appropriate weighing module. Side loading, binding, uneven support and uncontrolled structural contact should be avoided.

Silo Weigher Connection: Load cells are connected to the individual silo weighing module. The reference architecture allows up to eight load cells to be connected to one silo weigher.

Communication Wiring: Individual silo modules are connected to the centralized controller using the specified communication network. Cable routes should be protected from livestock, machinery and unnecessary electrical interference.

Calibration: Zero setting and weighing calibration should be completed after mechanical installation and before the system is placed into normal service.

Maintenance: Periodically inspect load cells, mounting assemblies, cables, controller terminals, enclosures and silo supports. Recalibration should be considered after structural modification or major maintenance work.
