| Product Overview |
The Custom Cut-and-Weld Pig Gate Panel is a field-adjustable steel gating solution designed for pig barns where standard gate dimensions do not match the actual opening.
One end upright can be repositioned along the horizontal rods, allowing the installer to set the required gate length before welding the upright permanently into position and removing the excess section.
This construction method is particularly useful for pig house renovation, replacement of damaged gates, irregular openings and customized commercial pen layouts. The finished gate can be combined with livestock latches, gate rods, wall brackets, posts, feeder brackets and floor-mounted supports.
|
| Key Features |
- Custom On-Site Length: Allows gate dimensions to be adjusted directly to the actual barn opening.
- Movable End Upright: The adjustable upright can be repositioned before final welding.
- Cut-and-Weld Construction: Excess horizontal rods and top rail can be removed after the final gate length is established.
- Heavy-Duty Steel Structure: Horizontal steel rods and reinforced structural members provide reliable pig containment.
- Ideal for Retrofit Projects: Useful when existing openings differ from standard manufactured gate dimensions.
- Flexible Accessories: Compatible with gate clips, latches, drop rods, posts, wall brackets and feeder connections.
- Easy Repair Solution: Suitable for replacing damaged divider or gate sections without rebuilding complete pen rows.
- Multiple Surface Finishes: Painted, galvanized or project-specific corrosion-resistant finishes are available upon request.
- Commercial Farm Application: Suitable for nursery, grower, finisher and other pig housing areas according to configuration.
|
| Structural Components |
- Horizontal Steel Rods: Form the primary gate barrier and withstand lateral animal pressure.
- Top Structural Rail: Provides longitudinal reinforcement across the gate panel.
- Fixed End Upright: Factory-positioned structural end member.
- Adjustable End Upright: Temporarily positioned so the installer can move it to the required gate length.
- Gate Clips: Connect the completed gate to drop rods, posts or adjoining pen structures.
- Latch Components: Flipper latches or other livestock locking systems are available according to project requirements.
- Gate Rods: Provide a simple hinge or pivot connection for compatible pig pen installations.
- Posts and Base Plates: Can be supplied where a free-standing gate support is required.
- Wall or Feeder Brackets: Allow the gate to connect to concrete walls, partitions or compatible feeding equipment.
|
| Working Principle / Structural Principle |
The panel is supplied longer than the final required gate size. One upright is securely fixed while the opposite upright can be repositioned along the horizontal rods.
During fabrication, the installer measures the actual opening, moves the adjustable upright to the required position and confirms the finished gate dimension. The horizontal rods and top rail are then welded securely to the upright.
Excess material extending beyond the new upright position is cut or ground away. Required clips, latch components or hinge pipes are then installed to complete the gate.
This principle allows one standard panel to accommodate multiple gate lengths and helps reduce the need for individually fabricated replacement gates.

| Installation & Maintenance |
Installation:
- Measure the actual gate opening and confirm the required installation clearance.
- Release the temporarily positioned end upright.
- Move the upright along the horizontal rods to the required finished length.
- Confirm alignment and weld the horizontal rods and top rail securely to the upright.
- Cut or grind away the excess steel beyond the finished upright position.
- Install the required clips, hinge pipes, gate rods and latch components.
- Apply suitable corrosion protection to exposed steel and newly welded surfaces.
- Mount the gate to the post, wall, feeder or adjacent pen structure.
- Check gate clearance, hinge movement, latch engagement and weld quality before use.
Maintenance:
- Inspect welds and horizontal rods regularly for mechanical damage.
- Check gate rods, clips, hinges and latches for excessive wear.
- Retighten post, wall and floor connections when required.
- Keep moving components free from manure and feed residue.
- Repair damaged protective coating after cutting, welding or mechanical impact.

| Product FAQ |
Q: What is a cut-and-weld pig gate panel?
A: It is an adjustable steel gate panel supplied with a movable end upright so the installer can produce a custom finished gate length on site.
Q: Why use a cut-and-weld panel instead of a standard gate?
A: It is useful when an existing barn opening does not match a standard gate size or when replacement and renovation work requires an exact custom dimension.
Q: How is the gate length adjusted?
A: The movable upright is repositioned to the required location, welded to the rods and top rail, and the excess steel is then removed.
Q: What gate lengths can be produced?
A: Reference configurations include panels designed for approximately 6-9 ft and 9-12 ft finished gate ranges. Customized specifications are available upon request.
Q: Is welding equipment required?
A: Yes. Proper welding and metal-cutting equipment are required to complete the field adjustment safely and securely.
Q: Can different latch systems be installed?
A: Yes. Gate clips, flipper latches, drop rods and other livestock gate hardware can be selected according to project requirements.
Q: Can the gate connect directly to a feeder?
A: Yes. Compatible feeder brackets can be used when the pen layout requires the gate or divider to terminate at feeding equipment.
Q: Can galvanized versions be supplied?
A: Galvanized configurations and corrosion-resistant installation components are available according to project requirements.
Q: What information is needed for quotation?
A: Recommended information includes finished gate dimensions, pig category, barn opening size, mounting method, latch type, surface treatment and project quantity.
