| Product Overview | The Piglet Trainer Nipple Drinker is designed to help young pigs quickly locate and learn to operate their drinking-water source. A built-in adjustment screw can be set to create a slow drip during the training period, attracting piglets to the drinker. After the animals have learned to activate the nipple, the trainer screw can be adjusted to stop the continuous drip and return the drinker to normal on-demand operation. The compact stainless steel construction is suitable for farrowing and nursery pig facilities. |

| Working Principle / Structural Principle | During the initial training period, the trainer screw is adjusted so a small amount of water drips from the nipple. The visible and accessible water helps young piglets identify the drinking point. When a piglet bites or moves the nipple stem, the internal valve opens and releases water. After the stem is released, the diaphragm returns the valve to its closed position. Once piglets have learned to drink independently, the trainer screw can be adjusted to eliminate the training drip. |

| Installation & Maintenance | Install the nipple at an appropriate height for the age and size of the piglets. Connect the threaded inlet securely to the water pipe or mounting bracket and operate the trainer configuration at the specified reduced water pressure. At the beginning of the training period, adjust the trainer screw until a visible slow drip is produced. After the piglets have learned to locate and activate the nipple, reduce or stop the training drip. Periodically inspect valve movement, seals and water flow, and flush the water line to remove debris or mineral deposits. |

| Product FAQ | Q: What is the purpose of the trainer screw? A: The trainer screw allows the nipple to drip slowly, helping young piglets locate the water source and learn where to drink. Q: Should the nipple continue dripping after training? A: No. Once the piglets are consistently using the drinker, the adjustment screw can be set to stop the training drip and return the nipple to normal on-demand operation. Q: What pigs is this drinker designed for? A: The reference configuration is intended for young pigs up to approximately 50 lb, including pre-nursery and nursery piglets. Q: What connection size is commonly used? A: A 1/2-inch male pipe thread is commonly used for this type of piglet trainer nipple. Q: Why is reduced water pressure used during training? A: Reduced pressure helps maintain a manageable training drip and makes the water easier for very young piglets to access without excessive discharge. Q: Can complete piglet watering assemblies be supplied? A: Yes. Nipple drinkers, mounting brackets, water pipes and related fittings can be configured according to pig-house project requirements. |
