Product Overview

The Sensor-Controlled Nursery Pig Feeder is an automatic feeding solution developed for newly weaned and lightweight piglets. A sensor monitors the trough condition and activates a controlled feeding cycle when fresh feed is required.

Feed and water are mixed directly in the low-access trough, providing small quantities of fresh soaked feed that are easy for young piglets to reach and consume. Adjustable pause time and water volume allow the feeding program to be adapted to piglet development and barn management.

The feeder is suitable for commercial nursery houses, weak-piglet groups and modern steel-structure pig farms requiring automated feeding with reduced daily labor.

Key Features
  • Sensor-controlled automatic feed assignment.
  • Designed for small piglets from approximately 4 kg.
  • Feed and water are mixed directly inside the trough.
  • Provides small quantities of fresh soaked feed throughout the day.
  • Adjustable pause time between feeding cycles.
  • Adjustable water volume for different feeding strategies.
  • Low trough dimensions provide easy access for newly weaned pigs.
  • Suitable for groups of up to approximately 60 piglets under reference conditions.
  • Automatic operation helps reduce routine manual feeding work.
  • Easy-access trough supports efficient washing and sanitation.
  • Can be installed between pen partitions or as a project-specific standalone unit.
Structural Components
  • Feed Hopper: Stores dry feed above the automatic dosing section.
  • Low Nursery Trough: Provides accessible feeding space for newly weaned piglets.
  • Level Sensor: Detects trough conditions and controls automatic feeding cycles.
  • Control Unit: Manages feed assignment, pause intervals and operating sequence.
  • 24 V DC Drive Motor: Operates the automatic feed-distribution mechanism.
  • Center Feed Distributor: Delivers feed into the trough area.
  • Dosing Components: Adjustable discs and internal components regulate feed discharge according to ration characteristics.
  • Water Pipe: Supplies water for mixing with feed inside the trough.
  • Solenoid Valve: Automatically controls water delivery.
  • Anti-Blocking Component: Helps maintain reliable feed movement through the hopper outlet.
  • Structural Frame: Supports the hopper, trough, control equipment and water components.
Working Principle

The feeder monitors the trough through a sensor. When the programmed condition indicates that the feeding area requires replenishment, the control unit activates a feeding cycle.

A controlled amount of feed is discharged while water is delivered through the automatic valve. Feed and water are mixed at the bottom of the trough to provide fresh soaked feed for the piglets.

When the required trough level is reached, the feeding cycle stops. An adjustable pause period prevents immediate repeated dosing and allows the next batch to be prepared according to actual consumption.
