Product Overview

The Narrow-Aisle Electric Pig Feed Cart is a compact mobile feeding vehicle developed for commercial pig houses where passage width limits the use of larger feed trucks. It combines electric travel, a feed hopper and mechanical auger discharge in one maneuverable feeding unit.

Reference configurations are available from approximately 800 mm in vehicle width, allowing the cart to travel between rows of sow stalls, nursery pens and finishing pens while carrying substantially more feed than a conventional manual trolley.

The battery-powered drive reduces manual handling, while adjustable auger discharge allows the operator to deliver feed directly into troughs. Single-side or bilateral feeding arrangements and optional automatic loading equipment can be supplied according to project requirements.

Key Features
  • Compact body designed for narrow pig-house feeding aisles.
  • Reference vehicle widths from approximately 800 mm.
  • Battery-powered electric travel reduces manual pushing and labor demand.
  • Three-wheel layout provides a relatively small turning radius.
  • Motor-driven auger provides fast and controlled feed discharge.
  • Adjustable feeding rate supports different trough lengths and pig groups.
  • Single-side or bilateral feed distribution available.
  • Suitable for powder feed, pellets and compatible feed ingredients.
  • Stainless steel hopper construction available upon request.
  • Optional loading auger or elevator reduces manual hopper filling.
  • Suitable for level barns and reasonable farm slopes according to load and drive configuration.
Structural Components
  • Compact Three-Wheel Chassis: Provides mobility and turning capability inside narrow livestock-house aisles.
  • Feed Hopper: Stores dry feed or compatible feed ingredients during transport and distribution.
  • Horizontal Auger: Transfers feed from the hopper toward the discharge section.
  • Discharge Auger: Delivers feed outward into pig troughs.
  • Discharge Spout: Directs the feed stream toward the required feeding position.
  • Electric Drive Motor: Powers vehicle travel without gasoline or diesel exhaust inside the barn.
  • Auger Motor: Provides mechanical power for feed conveying.
  • Rechargeable Battery Pack: Supplies energy for mobile operation.
  • Operator Seat and Controls: Allow travel and discharge functions to be managed from the vehicle.
  • Optional Loading Conveyor: Transfers feed automatically into the hopper.
Working Principle

Dry feed is loaded into the cart hopper manually or through an optional loading auger. The battery-powered drive then transports the feed from the storage or preparation area into the pig house.

The narrow chassis allows the operator to travel along restricted feeding passages. At each pen or trough section, the auger system is activated and conveys feed from the hopper toward the discharge outlet.

The discharge rate can be regulated according to feeding requirements. Bilateral configurations allow feed to be distributed to troughs on either side of the aisle, improving efficiency in barns with parallel pen rows.

Installation & Maintenance

Commissioning:

  • Measure the narrowest barn aisle, doorway and turning area before selecting vehicle width.
  • Maintain suitable side clearance rather than selecting a cart exactly equal to the aisle width.
  • Confirm floor load capacity, slope and surface condition.
  • Fully charge the battery before initial operation.
  • Check steering, brakes, tires and travel controls.
  • Test the auger without feed and verify the correct rotation direction.
  • Adjust discharge speed according to feed characteristics and required ration.

Maintenance:

  • Remove residual feed from the hopper and auger when required.
  • Inspect auger flights, bearings and drive components periodically.
  • Prevent stones, metal parts and other foreign objects from entering the hopper.
  • Check electrical wiring, switches and motor connections regularly.
  • Inspect tires, brakes and steering components before daily operation.
  • Maintain and charge the battery according to battery specifications.
  • Clean feed-contact surfaces according to the farm biosecurity program.
Product FAQ

Q: What is the main advantage of the narrow-aisle model?
A: Its compact width allows powered feed transport and mechanical distribution in pig houses where larger feeding vehicles cannot pass conveniently.

Q: What is the narrowest reference width?
A: Comparable configurations start at approximately 800 mm, with 900, 1000 and 1200 mm versions also available.

Q: How much feed can the cart transport?
A: Reference load classes include approximately 500, 800 and 1000 kg. The appropriate model depends on aisle width, floor condition and feeding requirements.

Q: Can it distribute feed automatically?
A: Yes. A motor-driven auger conveys feed from the hopper to the discharge outlet, significantly reducing manual shoveling.

Q: Can the cart feed troughs on both sides of the aisle?
A: Yes. Bilateral discharge configurations are available according to barn layout.

Q: What feed types can it transport?
A: It can handle common pig powder feed, pellets, feed ingredients and compatible materials with limited moisture, subject to auger configuration.

Q: Can an automatic loading system be added?
A: Yes. An optional loading auger or elevator can transfer feed into the hopper and further reduce manual labor.

Q: What information is required for a quotation?
A: Please provide the narrowest aisle width, doorway width, turning radius, floor slope, required feed load, feed type, single-side or bilateral discharge requirement and project location.
