Working Principle The operator first allows one animal to enter the holding area. Sensors detect the animal and the powered entry gate opens to allow it into the cattle crush.

Once the animal is safely inside, the entry gate closes and the weighing cycle begins. The EID reader identifies the animal while the electronic load bars record its live weight. Additional treatment or management information can also be associated with the individual animal record when a compatible management system is used.

The control system compares the recorded information with preset drafting criteria. The appropriate exit gate then opens automatically and directs the animal into the selected group.

After the animal leaves, the gates return to their ready positions and the system prepares for the next handling cycle.
