Product Name Pivot-Action Calf Transport & Restraint Trolley
Product Image pivot action calf transport and restraint trolley
Product Overview The Pivot-Action Calf Transport & Restraint Trolley is a manually operated livestock handling cart designed for moving young calves safely between maternity areas, calf barns, hutches, treatment areas and other locations around a dairy farm.

Its balanced two-wheel pivot design allows the trolley body to be lowered toward ground level for easier walk-in loading. After the calf enters, the operator secures the animal with the integrated head-lock mechanism, closes the gate and returns the trolley to its transport position.

In addition to calf transportation, the trolley can provide temporary restraint for routine husbandry procedures such as health inspection, identification, vaccination and other veterinary or calf-management work.
Key Features
  • Pivot-Action Loading: The trolley can be tilted so the entrance approaches ground level, reducing the need to lift calves into the cart.
  • Walk-In, Walk-Out Handling: Front and rear access supports straightforward loading and unloading during routine farm movement.
  • Integrated Head Restraint: A locking headgate helps hold the calf securely during transport or short-duration husbandry procedures.
  • Large Pneumatic Wheels: Large-diameter wheels improve maneuverability on concrete, gravel and other typical farm surfaces.
  • High Ground Clearance: The chassis is designed for practical movement around uneven livestock facilities.
  • Protective Metal Side Panels: Enclosed lower sides help protect calf legs during movement.
  • Easy-Clean Floor: A slatted plastic floor promotes drainage and simplifies washing after use.
  • Manual Operation: No tractor, battery or electrical connection is required for normal transport.
  • Multi-Purpose Calf Handling: Suitable for transport, examination and controlled restraint during routine calf care.
Structural Components
  • Heavy-duty tubular steel frame
  • Galvanized metal side panels
  • Front access gate
  • Rear access gate
  • Adjustable locking headgate
  • Neck-restraint locking mechanism
  • Slatted plastic floor
  • Two large pneumatic wheels
  • Bearing wheel hubs
  • Long pivot operating handle
  • Transport-position locking system
  • Optional electronic weighing components
Working Principle Lower the Trolley: Release the transport locks and raise the operating handle. The pivot action lowers the trolley entrance toward ground level.

Load the Calf: Open the access gate and calmly guide the calf into the trolley without unnecessary lifting.

Secure the Animal: Adjust and close the head-lock mechanism when restraint is required, then secure the access gate.

Raise to Transport Position: Press the operating handle downward to lift the trolley body onto the wheels and engage the transport locks.

Move the Calf: The balanced two-wheel chassis allows one operator to maneuver the trolley around suitable farm roads, alleys and calf facilities.

Unload: At the destination, lower the trolley again and open the appropriate gate so the calf can exit with minimal handling stress.

Installation & Maintenance The trolley requires no permanent farm installation. Before use, check the wheel hubs, tyre pressure, pivot mechanism, gate latches, transport locks and head-restraint system.

Operators should confirm that the intended transport route provides sufficient width and reasonably stable ground conditions. Calves should be guided calmly into and out of the trolley without dragging or excessive force.

After use, remove manure and bedding residues from the floor and side panels. Wash and disinfect animal-contact surfaces as required by the farm's calf-health protocol, then allow the trolley to dry before reuse.

Lubricate pivot points, locks and wheel bearings according to the maintenance schedule and replace worn tyres, latches or restraint components when necessary.
Product FAQ Q: What is the advantage of the pivot-action design?
A: It allows the trolley entrance to be lowered toward ground level so the calf can walk into the cart with less lifting and handling effort.

Q: Can one operator move the trolley?
A: The balanced two-wheel design is intended for practical manual operation by one trained handler under suitable farm conditions.

Q: Can the trolley restrain a calf during treatment?
A: Yes. The integrated locking headgate can provide temporary restraint for routine calf-management and veterinary procedures.

Q: Is the trolley suitable for rough farm surfaces?
A: Large pneumatic wheels and generous ground clearance improve maneuverability over common farm surfaces such as concrete, compacted gravel and uneven yards.

Q: Is the trolley easy to clean?
A: Yes. Galvanized metal surfaces and a slatted plastic floor simplify washing, drainage and disinfection.

Q: Can a weighing system be added?
A: Yes. An electronic livestock weighing configuration can be supplied according to project requirements.
