Product Name Cordless Butane Calf Dehorner
Product Image cordless butane calf dehorner
Product Overview

The Cordless Butane Calf Dehorner is a portable thermal disbudding tool designed for young calves where access to mains electricity is limited or inconvenient. An integrated refillable butane reservoir eliminates external cables, hoses and separate gas cylinders, allowing operators to work efficiently in calf hutches, livestock handling areas, barns and field locations.

The compact stainless-steel working head combines strong heat retention with a replaceable burning-tip system. A dual ignition arrangement provides both click-to-ignite and manual ignition capability, while the refillable fuel system supports repeated farm use without disposable fuel cartridges.

Key Features
  • Cordless butane-powered operation for unrestricted movement around livestock facilities.
  • Maximum reference tip temperature up to approximately 650°C.
  • Approximately 45 minutes of operating time from a full fuel reservoir under reference conditions.
  • Fast butane refilling with a reference refill time of approximately 20 seconds.
  • Click-to-ignite system with secondary manual ignition capability.
  • 20 mm stainless-steel flame housing reinforces the working head.
  • Mechanically retained ceramic component improves protection of the ignition system.
  • Replaceable burning tips allow the tool to be adapted to different horn-bud sizes.
  • Compact and lightweight configuration for repetitive commercial-farm use.
  • No mains cable, external gas hose or battery charging system is required.
Structural Components
  • Refillable Butane Reservoir: Integrated fuel tank provides completely cordless operation.
  • Gas Control: Regulates fuel supply to the burner system during heating and operation.
  • Ignition System: Supports click ignition with manual ignition available as a backup method.
  • Stainless-Steel Working Head: Robust front assembly designed to withstand repeated high-temperature operation.
  • 20 mm Flame Housing: Reinforces and protects the burner area.
  • Ceramic Ignition Component: Mechanically supported for improved protection and serviceability.
  • Replaceable Burning Tip: Transfers concentrated heat around the calf horn bud.
  • Heat Shield: Helps separate the hot working area from the operator's grip.
Working Principle

Filtered butane fuel stored inside the handle is released into the burner assembly and ignited. The combustion system transfers heat to the replaceable circular burning tip until the required operating temperature is reached.

During thermal disbudding, trained personnel position the heated ring around the horn bud to cauterize the horn-producing tissue. Correct animal restraint, appropriate pain management and compliance with applicable veterinary and animal-welfare regulations are essential parts of the operating procedure.
