| Product Image |
 |
| Product Overview |
The Electric Dehorner for Calves and Lambs is a low-voltage thermal disbudding tool designed for controlled treatment of horn buds in young livestock. The complete system combines a handheld heating iron with a 24V safety transformer, interchangeable burning tip, integrated hot-iron holder and extended power cable for practical farm operation.
The reference configuration provides 250W heating power and a burning-tip temperature of up to approximately 600°C. Its compact structure is suitable for dairy farms, calf rearing centers, breeding farms, veterinary service teams and livestock equipment distributors requiring a durable mains-powered dehorning solution.
|
| Key Features |
- 24V low-voltage operating system with safety transformer.
- 250W heating power for dependable thermal performance.
- Burning-tip temperature reaches up to approximately 600°C.
- 17 mm burning tip supplied with the reference configuration.
- Interchangeable tip structure simplifies replacement and specification selection.
- 4 m power cable provides practical working reach around calf pens and handling areas.
- Integrated iron holder provides a designated resting position for the heated handpiece.
- Simple mains-powered design avoids battery charging and gas cartridge management.
- Suitable for professional livestock farms, veterinary teams and agricultural equipment distributors.
|
| Structural Components |
- Heating Handpiece: Compact electric iron containing the heating element and burner-tip connection.
- Burning Tip: Circular thermal tip designed to apply heat around the horn-bud area.
- Heat-Resistant Shaft: Connects the handpiece and working tip while maintaining practical operating clearance.
- Safety Transformer: Converts mains electricity to the low-voltage 24V operating supply.
- Integrated Iron Holder: Supports the hot handpiece between operations.
- Power Cable: Extended cable provides mobility around livestock handling and restraint areas.
|
| Working Principle |
The transformer supplies low-voltage electrical power to the heating element inside the handpiece. Heat is transferred to the circular burning tip, which reaches the operating temperature required for thermal horn-bud cauterization. When used by trained personnel under appropriate animal-restraint, pain-management and welfare procedures, the heated tip creates a controlled cauterization ring around the horn bud to interrupt further horn development.
