Key Features
  • Air Velocity Measurement: Measures air movement for ventilation inspection in barns, animal houses and duct systems.
  • Airflow Measurement: Calculates airflow after the ventilation opening or duct area is entered.
  • Multiple Velocity Units: Supports six commonly used air-speed units for international applications.
  • Backlit LCD: Clear digital display supports measurements in poorly illuminated livestock buildings.
  • MAX/MIN Function: Allows operators to monitor maximum and minimum air-velocity readings during inspection.
  • Data Hold: Freezes the displayed measurement for easier recording in field applications.
  • Optional Environmental Measurement: PM6252B configuration also supports air temperature and relative humidity measurement.
  • USB Data Transmission: PM6252B configuration supports real-time data transfer to a computer through USB.
  • Portable Farm Design: Compact handheld housing is convenient for checking multiple pens, fans and ventilation zones.
  • Low-Power Operation: Powered by a standard 9V battery with automatic power-off and low-battery indication.
Working Principle Air passing through the integrated vane causes the impeller to rotate. The rotational speed changes in proportion to the velocity of the moving air. An internal sensor detects the vane movement and the electronic circuit converts it into a digital air-velocity reading.

For airflow measurement, the operator enters the cross-sectional area of the ventilation opening or duct. The instrument combines the measured air velocity with the entered area to calculate volumetric airflow. This allows farm technicians to evaluate ventilation fans, air inlets, ducts and air distribution inside livestock buildings.

Installation & Maintenance
  • Install a suitable 9V battery before operation and check the low-battery indicator regularly.
  • Hold the vane facing directly into the airflow and keep the impeller unobstructed during measurement.
  • Allow the reading to stabilize before recording the air-velocity result.
  • Measure several representative points when evaluating airflow distribution inside livestock buildings.
  • Enter the correct duct or opening area before using the volumetric airflow calculation function.
  • Use livestock-level measurement positions when evaluating animal-zone air movement.
  • Keep the impeller free from dust, feathers, feed particles and other debris.
  • Do not apply excessive force to the vane or allow foreign objects to enter the impeller.
  • Avoid water immersion, strong impact and corrosive environments.
  • Remove the battery before long-term storage and keep the instrument in its protective case.
Product FAQ

Q: What does this digital anemometer measure?
A: The basic function measures air velocity and volumetric airflow. Depending on the configuration, additional measurements can include air temperature and relative humidity.

Q: What is the air-velocity range?
A: The PM6252B configuration measures approximately 0.80 to 30.00 m/s.

Q: Which wind-speed units are available?
A: The meter supports m/s, ft/min, km/h, mph, knots and ft/s.

Q: Can the meter calculate airflow?
A: Yes. After entering the cross-sectional area of the duct or opening, the meter can calculate volumetric airflow.

Q: Does it measure wind direction?
A: The PM6252-series vane configuration measures air velocity and airflow but does not provide a 0–360° wind-direction measurement. A separate directional sensor is required when wind direction must be measured.

Q: Does the meter measure temperature and humidity?
A: These environmental functions are available on the PM6252B configuration. Specifications should be confirmed according to the model supplied.

Q: Can measurement data be transferred to a computer?
A: The PM6252B configuration includes a USB interface for real-time data transmission.

Q: Is it useful for commercial livestock farms?
A: Yes. It can help technicians check fan performance, air-inlet velocity, duct airflow and animal-level air movement in pig, poultry and cattle facilities.

Q: How should ventilation performance be evaluated?
A: Take measurements at multiple representative locations and operating conditions rather than relying on a single point measurement.
