Product Overview A Retrievable Diffuser Aeration System supplies air to a wastewater basin through submerged diffuser assemblies mounted on a liftable grid. Operators can raise an individual assembly to an accessible position for inspection, cleaning or diffuser replacement without draining the entire basin. It is a practical option for commercial pig farms and livestock wastewater treatment facilities where an aeration tank must remain available during routine maintenance. System selection depends on the wastewater characteristics, treatment process, oxygen demand and basin geometry.
Key Features
  • Retrievable assemblies provide access to submerged diffusers from a walkway or service platform.
  • Modular grid layout can be adapted to new basins or suitable existing tanks.
  • Fine bubble diffusers support oxygen transfer for biological treatment; coarse bubble options can be assessed where mixing or fouling conditions call for them.
  • Corrosion-resistant frame and pipe materials can be selected for the wastewater environment.
  • Individual grids can be serviced while the maintenance procedure for the remaining aeration system is planned around site operations.
Structural Components The project configuration may include tubular diffuser assemblies, a support grid, air distribution piping, guide tracks, a lifting connection and a hoisting arrangement. The air supply connects to a suitably sized blower and header. Basin-edge supports, access walkways and steel work platforms are coordinated with the civil and steel structure design. Component quantities, connections and material grades are confirmed during engineering.
Working Principle A blower delivers air through the header and submerged diffusers. Rising bubbles transfer oxygen into the wastewater to support the specified aerobic process. For maintenance, the selected grid is isolated as required and lifted along its guide arrangement to the service position. After inspection or replacement, the assembly is lowered and returned to operation. Additional mixing may be needed in larger or more heavily loaded basins; aeration alone should not be assumed to keep every solid in suspension.
Technical Specifications
  • Diffuser type: Fine bubble or coarse bubble, according to project requirements.
  • Grid dimensions and quantity: Customizable to basin geometry and access arrangement.
  • Airflow and blower duty: Determined from process design and oxygen demand.
  • Materials: Selected for corrosion resistance and site conditions; available upon request.
  • Lifting method: Specified according to assembly weight, platform access and maintenance plan.
  • Climate and installation details: Designed according to local climate and farm conditions.
Applications Biological aeration tanks, sequencing batch reactors, wastewater holding tanks and post-aeration stages serving pig farms, livestock operations and agricultural wastewater projects. Upstream screening and solid-liquid separation should be considered where raw manure slurry could block or foul the diffusers.
Customization Options Grid arrangement, diffuser selection, air headers, frame materials, lifting equipment and walkway interfaces can be specified for new pig farm construction or treatment plant upgrades. Share the basin drawings, operating water level, wastewater analysis, target treatment process and available power supply to support equipment selection.
Installation & Maintenance Position the grids and guides to allow a clear lifting path and safe access from the service platform. Coordinate anchors, air connections and lifting loads with the basin and structural design before installation. During operation, monitor airflow, pressure and treatment performance. Inspect the raised diffusers and connections as needed, and follow the site isolation and lifting procedure before carrying out maintenance.
Product FAQ

Can the diffusers be serviced without draining the tank?
The retrievable grid is designed to be raised for access without draining the entire basin. The operating procedure depends on the tank layout and system configuration.

Is the system suitable for raw pig manure?
The feed should be assessed first. Screening and solid-liquid separation may be required to reduce fouling and protect downstream biological equipment.

What information is needed for a quotation?
Provide tank dimensions, water depth, wastewater characteristics, design flow, treatment objectives, site climate and available access for lifting.
