| Product Overview | The Wastewater Reuse Reverse Osmosis System is a membrane polishing solution for livestock wastewater that has already undergone appropriate solids removal and biological treatment. It reduces dissolved salts and other dissolved impurities to help produce water for approved non-potable reuse. For commercial pig farms, the system can be integrated with manure separation, biological treatment, ultrafiltration, storage tanks and a dedicated reuse-water distribution network. Feed-water quality and the intended use determine the final treatment train. |
| Key Features |
|
| Structural Components | A typical arrangement comprises a pretreated-water feed connection, cartridge filtration, high-pressure pump, RO membrane elements and pressure vessels, permeate and concentrate pipework, valves, instruments and an electrical control panel mounted on a structural skid. Chemical dosing, feed and permeate tanks, automated flushing, clean-in-place equipment and post-treatment are specified as needed. Frame and wetted-part materials are selected according to water chemistry and site conditions. |
| Working Principle | Pretreated water is pressurized and passed across semipermeable RO membranes. A portion passes through as lower-salinity permeate; the remaining stream carries concentrated impurities to a designated concentrate-management system. Stable pretreatment is essential: raw pig slurry or untreated farm effluent must not be fed directly to the RO membranes. Any disinfection or further conditioning required for the selected reuse application is designed separately. |
| Technical Specifications |
Final performance depends on pretreatment, feed-water composition, operating conditions and membrane selection. |
| Applications | Suitable projects include water-recycling upgrades for commercial pig farms, livestock wastewater treatment plants and integrated agricultural developments. Potential uses of the treated water include equipment washing, utility supply or landscape irrigation where the resulting water meets the applicable site-specific requirements. Animal drinking water and other sensitive uses require separate quality assessment and any additional treatment required by local standards. |
| Customization Options | The treatment train can be configured around measured wastewater quality, daily reuse demand, available footprint and concentrate-disposal arrangements. Options may include upstream ultrafiltration, additional membrane stages, standby pumps, automated controls and post-treatment. For new pig farm construction, the skid location, access routes and pipe connections can be coordinated with the wastewater treatment building or steel structure building design. |
| Installation & Maintenance | Position the skid on a level foundation with service clearance around pumps, filters and membrane vessels. Connect pretreated feed water, permeate, concentrate, drainage and electrical services according to the approved project drawings. Routine operation includes checking pretreatment performance, recording pressure and conductivity trends, replacing filter cartridges and cleaning membranes when operating data indicates fouling or scaling. Concentrate must be managed under the site's approved wastewater plan. |
