Product Overview

The High-Capacity WetMix Pig Feeder is designed for commercial wean-to-finish and finishing pig production where a single feeding station must serve a relatively large group of animals. It combines controlled dry-feed dosing with optional water delivery in the trough, allowing pigs to consume dry or soaked feed according to preference.

A long stainless steel feeding trough provides broad access around the feeder, while the pendulum-style dispensing mechanism releases feed through animal interaction and helps keep excessive feed from accumulating in the trough.

The feeder can be positioned within the pen and connected to manual filling or an automatic dry-feed distribution line, making it suitable for large commercial pig houses, steel-structure livestock buildings and integrated feeding projects.

Key Features
  • High-capacity group feeder for wean-to-finish and finishing pigs.
  • Suitable for pigs from approximately 7 kg through finishing weight in comparable configurations.
  • Long feeding trough allows pigs to eat along a broad feeding edge.
  • Pendulum-operated dosing helps deliver fresh feed on demand.
  • Pigs can consume feed dry or combine it with water in the trough.
  • Suitable for meal and pellet feed.
  • Large external adjustment handle simplifies feed-flow setting.
  • Strong stainless steel feeding components resist intensive animal contact.
  • Optional water-drop system or conventional water valve.
  • Manual or automatic feed filling can be configured.
  • Water-resistant hopper construction supports routine washing.
  • Suitable for central installation within commercial pig pens.
Structural Components
  • Feed Hopper: Stores meal or pellet feed and can be connected to manual or automatic filling systems.
  • Hopper Lid: Protects feed from contamination and moisture during normal operation.
  • Pendulum Dosing Unit: Releases controlled quantities of feed when activated by pigs.
  • Feed Adjustment Rod: Allows the discharge rate to be set according to feed type and pig size.
  • Adjustment Handle: Provides visible and convenient feed-setting control.
  • Stainless Steel Feeding Section: Reinforced structure designed for repeated contact with finishing pigs.
  • Long WetMix Trough: Provides a shared feeding surface for dry and soaked feed.
  • Water Delivery System: Optional water valve or adjustable water-drop configuration.
  • Support Frame: Stabilizes the feeder and connects it to the pen or flooring structure.
  • Mounting Hardware: Corrosion-resistant brackets and fasteners secure the feeder according to project requirements.
Working Principle

Dry feed flows from the hopper into the pendulum dosing section. Pig interaction with the dispensing mechanism releases a controlled amount of feed into the trough, helping maintain fresh feed availability without continuously filling the feeding area.

When water is supplied through the optional water-drop system or valve, pigs can moisten the feed directly in the trough. The water-to-feed relationship can be adjusted according to feeding strategy, feed characteristics and farm conditions.

The long trough allows several pigs to feed along the available edge, while the central feeder layout can improve access within group pens and reduce the amount of separate feeding equipment required.

Installation & Maintenance

Installation:

  • Confirm pig numbers, feeder location, floor type and feed-line route.
  • Position the feeder so pigs can reach the feeding trough without restricting pen traffic.
  • Use a reinforced support post or mounting structure for central pen installation where required.
  • Secure the feeder according to the approved floor and pen layout.
  • Connect manual or automatic feed filling equipment.
  • Connect the water valve or water-drop system where wet feeding is required.
  • Adjust feed flow according to ration type and pig size.
  • Check the dispensing mechanism, water supply and all fasteners before commissioning.

Maintenance:

  • Remove stale or excessively wet feed from the trough when required.
  • Clean the trough and feeding section regularly.
  • Inspect the pendulum dosing mechanism for free movement.
  • Check the large adjustment mechanism and locking components.
  • Inspect water valves and water-drop components for blockage or leakage.
  • Keep the hopper dry and prevent feed bridging.
  • Check stainless steel supports and mounting hardware periodically.
  • Wash and disinfect according to the farm biosecurity program.
Product FAQ

Q: What pigs is this feeder designed for?
A: Comparable WetMix systems are designed for wean-to-finish and finishing pigs from approximately 7 to 130 kg.

Q: How many pigs can one feeder serve?
A: A high-capacity configuration can serve up to approximately 60 pigs, depending on pig size, feed type, pen design and management conditions.

Q: How does the pendulum dosing system work?
A: Pigs activate the dosing mechanism while eating, releasing controlled quantities of fresh feed into the trough.

Q: Can pigs eat both dry and soaked feed?
A: Yes. Feed can be consumed dry or combined with water directly in the trough when the optional water system is installed.

Q: Can it handle both pellets and meal?
A: Yes. The dispensing system can be configured and adjusted for both pellet and meal-type feeds.

Q: Can the feeder be automatically filled?
A: Yes. It can be connected to an automatic dry-feed distribution system or filled manually.

Q: Can the feeder be installed in the center of a pen?
A: Yes. Central installation is possible with an appropriate reinforced support and floor anchoring configuration.

Q: What information is required for a quotation?
A: Please provide pig weight range, pigs per pen, pen dimensions, feeder quantity, feed type, automatic feed-line arrangement, water conditions, flooring type and available pig-house drawings.
