Product Overview

The Two-Sided Grow-to-Finish Wet-Dry Feeder is designed for commercial grower and finishing pig houses where one feeder serves pigs from two adjacent pens or feeding areas. It combines dry-feed access with integrated water nipples, allowing pigs to consume feed dry or mix feed and water in the trough.

Heavy-duty stainless steel construction, welded joints, protected edges and adjustable feed delivery provide durability and practical daily management under intensive farm conditions.

Multiple feeder lengths, feeding-space configurations, hopper options and mounting arrangements can be selected according to pig numbers, pen layout and automatic feeding system design.

Key Features
  • Two-sided feeding design serves pigs from both sides of the feeder.
  • Suitable for grow-to-finish and commercial finishing pig production.
  • Combines dry feeding and water access in one station.
  • Adjustable feed outlet helps control feed availability and minimize waste.
  • One drinking nipple can be provided for each feed space.
  • Heavy-duty 304 stainless steel construction available.
  • Welded structure provides high durability for intensive farm use.
  • Folded and protected edges improve structural strength and animal safety.
  • One-piece waterline reduces unnecessary connection and leakage points.
  • Multiple feeding-space and hopper-capacity configurations are available.
  • Suitable for floor, slat or gate-mounted installation.
Structural Components
  • Feed Hopper: Stores dry feed and directs it toward the feeding shelf.
  • Feed Adjustment Mechanism: Regulates feed flow according to pig size and consumption.
  • Dry Feed Shelf: Allows pigs to consume feed before adding water.
  • Wet-Dry Trough: Provides a controlled area for mixing feed and water.
  • Feeding Dividers: Define individual feeding positions and reduce competition.
  • Water Nipples: Supply drinking water directly within the feeding area.
  • Waterline: Distributes water along the feeder with reduced connection points.
  • Stainless Steel Chassis: Provides the main corrosion-resistant structural body.
  • Feed Tube Holders: Connect the feeder to automatic feed-delivery tubes.
  • Mounting Points: Allow installation on different livestock flooring and pen configurations.
Working Principle

Dry feed moves from the hopper through an adjustable outlet onto the feeding shelf. Pigs approaching from either side can eat the feed dry or activate the drinking nipple and mix feed with water in the trough.

Feed-flow adjustment allows the farm manager to balance feed availability with consumption, helping prevent excessive feed accumulation while maintaining consistent access.

The two-sided arrangement increases utilization of each feeder and is particularly suitable when the feeder is positioned between adjacent pens.

Installation & Maintenance

Installation:

  • Confirm pen capacity, feeder position, floor type and automatic feed-line layout.
  • Position the feeder so pigs can access both sides without restricting pen traffic.
  • Secure the feeder with mounting hardware suitable for the floor or gate structure.
  • Connect feed tubes and check unrestricted feed delivery into the hopper.
  • Connect the water supply and set appropriate pressure and flow.
  • Check all nipples for correct operation and leakage.
  • Adjust initial feed flow according to pig size and feed characteristics.
  • Inspect mounting points, edges and connections before commissioning.

Maintenance:

  • Remove wet, stale or compacted feed from the trough as required.
  • Clean the hopper, feed shelf and trough between production groups.
  • Inspect the feed-adjustment mechanism for free movement.
  • Check water nipples, regulators and waterlines for leakage or blockage.
  • Inspect welds, dividers and mounting hardware periodically.
  • Keep the hopper dry and protect stored feed from moisture.
  • Wash and disinfect according to the farm biosecurity program.
Product FAQ

Q: What is a two-sided wet-dry pig feeder?
A: It allows pigs to access the same feeder from both sides while providing dry feed and integrated water for wet-dry feeding.

Q: What pig production stage is it designed for?
A: It is primarily designed for grow-to-finish and finishing pigs. Comparable configurations are used from approximately 23 kg to market weight and above.

Q: Why use a two-sided feeder?
A: A two-sided design can serve two adjacent pens or larger groups from one feeding station, improving equipment utilization and barn layout efficiency.

Q: Can feed delivery be adjusted?
A: Yes. Adjustable feed-flow systems allow feed availability to be matched to pig size, feed type and consumption.

Q: Is water supplied inside the feeder?
A: Yes. Water nipples can be installed at each feeding position so pigs can combine feed and water directly in the trough.

Q: Can larger hoppers be supplied?
A: Yes. Extended and project-specific hopper configurations are available upon request.

Q: Can the feeder be installed on concrete slats?
A: Yes. Suitable mounting systems can be configured for solid concrete, concrete slats and other approved livestock flooring.

Q: What information is required for a quotation?
A: Please provide pig weight range, pigs per pen, number of pens, required feeding spaces, floor type, feed-line layout, water conditions, project location and available barn drawings.
