Product Overview

The Poultry Water Pressure Reducer is designed to reduce excessive incoming water pressure before water enters poultry-house distribution and nipple drinking systems. It helps maintain a stable primary pressure for downstream drinking-line regulators and protects valves, nipples, filters, medicators and other water-management components from excessive supply pressure.

The unit can be supplied as a pressure-reducer and filter combination with pressure gauge and flushing capability. It is typically installed as part of the main water connection unit between the farm water supply and the poultry-house drinking network, providing a compact and service-friendly solution for commercial poultry projects.

Key Features
  • Supply Pressure Reduction: reduces excessive mains or pump pressure before water reaches sensitive poultry drinking equipment.
  • Stable Downstream Pressure: helps provide a consistent primary pressure for nipple-line pressure regulators and other drinking-system components.
  • Integrated Filtration: compatible configurations combine pressure reduction and mechanical filtration in one compact assembly.
  • Pressure Gauge Monitoring: allows farm personnel to check operating pressure directly during commissioning and routine inspection.
  • Filter Flushing: selected configurations include a drain or ball valve for convenient filter rinsing and sediment removal.
  • Compact Installation: suitable for service rooms, water-control areas and prefabricated poultry-house utility sections.
  • Corrosion-Resistant Integration: can be combined with PVC water-connection components for humid livestock-house environments.
  • Modular System Design: can be integrated with filters, water meters, medicators, bypass valves and other poultry water-management equipment.
Structural Components
  • Pressure-reducer housing
  • Pressure adjustment mechanism
  • Internal regulator cartridge or diaphragm
  • Filter element
  • Transparent or serviceable filter housing
  • Pressure gauge
  • Inlet and outlet connections
  • Drain or flushing valve, depending on configuration
  • Seals and O-rings
  • Mounting and connection accessories
Working Principle

Incoming water enters the pressure reducer from the main farm water supply. The internal regulating mechanism automatically restricts the flow opening according to the selected pressure setting, reducing the incoming pressure to a more suitable downstream level.

Where an integrated filter is installed, suspended particles are retained before the water passes to the poultry-house distribution line. The pressure gauge provides visual confirmation of operating pressure and assists with adjustment and troubleshooting.

The pressure reducer is normally positioned upstream of individual drinking-line pressure regulators so that the downstream equipment receives a stable primary water supply independent of normal changes in farm water pressure and flow demand.

Installation & Maintenance

Install the pressure reducer in the water connection unit before the individual drinking-line pressure regulators. Follow the indicated water-flow direction and ensure the assembly is securely supported without excessive pipe stress.

Where a pressure-reducer and filter combination is used, the filter housing should be installed in the correct service position so that the element can be inspected, flushed and replaced conveniently. The pressure gauge should remain clearly visible to farm personnel.

Adjust the downstream pressure according to the requirements of the complete poultry watering system. Excessive pressure can damage downstream equipment or cause leakage, while insufficient pressure may restrict available flow during peak water demand.

Routine maintenance should include checking the pressure setting, pressure gauge, filter element, drain valve, seals and threaded connections. Flush or clean the filter when contamination increases pressure loss or reduces water flow.

Product FAQ

Q: What is the purpose of a poultry water pressure reducer?

A: It reduces excessive incoming water pressure to a controlled level before water enters the poultry-house distribution and drinking systems.

Q: Is this the same as a nipple-line pressure regulator?

A: No. A main water pressure reducer normally controls the primary supply pressure, while a nipple-line regulator further reduces and adjusts pressure specifically for each drinking line.

Q: Why is a filter integrated with the pressure reducer?

A: The filter removes suspended particles before they reach water meters, medicators, pressure regulators and nipple drinkers, helping reduce blockage and equipment wear.

Q: Can the filter be flushed?

A: Selected configurations include a flushing or drain valve that allows accumulated contaminants to be removed from the filter housing.

Q: Can the unit be installed with a medicator?

A: Yes. The pressure reducer can be incorporated into a modular water connection unit with filters, water meters, bypass valves and proportional medicators.

Q: Are different pipe sizes available?

A: Yes. Connection size can be selected according to required flow rate, house size and project design.

Q: Can it be supplied for complete poultry-house projects?

A: Yes. Pressure reducers, filters, water meters, medicators, bypass assemblies, line regulators and nipple drinking components can be configured according to project requirements.
