| Product Overview |
The 100L Double Reservoir Sheep Water Trough is a compact automatic livestock watering solution designed for goat-farming-equipment/" target="_blank" class="keylink">sheep housing, lambing facilities, livestock pens and pasture-based production systems. Its dual-reservoir structure allows one trough to serve animals from two adjacent zones, making efficient use of pen divisions and livestock building layouts. The reference configuration is manufactured from tough, impact-resistant, UV-protected and frost-resistant polyethylene. Smooth edges improve animal safety, while the non-porous internal surfaces simplify routine washing and support good farm biosecurity practices. An automatic high-pressure float valve maintains the water level as livestock drink. The valve is positioned inside a dedicated protective compartment, helping prevent direct animal interference and reducing the risk of accidental valve damage in demanding commercial farm environments. |

| Working Principle / Structural Principle |
The trough operates through a mechanical float-valve water-level control system. When livestock drink and the water level falls, the float moves downward and opens the inlet valve. Fresh water then enters the trough automatically. As the reservoir refills to its operating level, the float rises and progressively closes the inlet valve. This automatic process helps maintain drinking-water availability without requiring continuous manual refilling. The double reservoir layout enables the trough to be positioned between two livestock zones or adjacent pens, allowing animals on both sides to use the same water supply point. This arrangement can simplify livestock building layouts and reduce the number of separate drinkers required in suitable applications. |

| Installation & Maintenance |
Positioning: Install the trough on a stable, level and well-drained surface. For double-zone applications, position the trough carefully along the livestock partition so that both reservoirs remain easily accessible. Water Connection: Connect the inlet to a clean farm water supply using compatible fittings. The installation should allow convenient isolation of the trough for servicing and cleaning. Float Valve Adjustment: Check the float-valve operation after connecting the water supply and set the operating water level as required. Leak Inspection: Inspect all water connections before livestock are introduced. Confirm that the valve shuts off correctly when the required water level is reached. Routine Cleaning: Empty and wash the reservoirs regularly to remove feed particles, sediment, algae and other contamination. Smooth non-porous polyethylene surfaces facilitate routine sanitation. Periodic Maintenance: Inspect the float valve, inlet connection and protective compartment periodically. Remove debris that could restrict valve movement or water flow. |

| Project Cases |
Double reservoir water troughs can be incorporated into complete sheep farm and livestock housing projects together with sheep penning, galvanized livestock gates, feed barriers, lambing pens, feeding equipment, water supply pipelines and steel structure livestock buildings. For commercial projects, trough quantity and positioning can be planned according to animal numbers, pen divisions, available water pressure and farm management requirements. |

| Product FAQ |
Q1: What is the advantage of a double reservoir water trough? The dual-reservoir structure allows one trough to provide drinking access from two adjacent livestock zones, which can improve space utilization and simplify watering layouts. Q2: Does the trough refill automatically? Yes. A mechanical float valve controls the incoming water supply and automatically replenishes water as the level falls. Q3: Is the float valve protected from livestock? Yes. The reference design positions the float valve inside a dedicated plastic compartment to reduce direct animal access and accidental damage. Q4: Is the trough suitable for sheep and lambs? Yes. Its accessible drinking areas and relatively compact profile make this type of trough suitable for sheep farming and compatible young livestock applications when correctly positioned. Q5: Can the trough be used outdoors? The reference polyethylene construction is UV protected and frost resistant. Installation should nevertheless be designed according to local climate, water supply conditions and winter management requirements. Q6: Is the trough easy to clean? Yes. Smooth, non-porous polyethylene surfaces facilitate washing and help support livestock farm hygiene and biosecurity procedures. Q7: Can SHEWUYOU customize water troughs for complete farm projects? Yes. Capacity, dimensions, valve configuration, inlet connection, color, packaging and related specifications can be supplied according to project requirements. |
