| Working Principle |
The waterer is mounted over an underground heat well with the supply pipe entering through the center of the insulated base. Relatively stable ground temperature rises into the sealed lower chamber and helps protect the valve and stored water from freezing. The floating ball normally covers the drinking opening. When cattle push the ball downward or sideways, water becomes accessible. After the animal finishes drinking, the buoyant ball returns to the opening and forms a thermal barrier against outside air. As the water level falls, the internal float valve opens and refills the reservoir. Once the preset level is restored, the valve closes automatically.
