The waterer is connected to a pressurized livestock water supply. A mechanical float controls the inlet valve and maintains the selected water level automatically. When cattle drink and the water level drops, the float lowers and opens the valve. Fresh water enters the stainless steel trough until the normal operating level is restored, at which point the float closes the valve. During cold weather, thermostatically controlled heating elements beneath the trough supply heat only when required. The insulated housing limits thermal loss, while a cable heater can protect the valve and incoming water line. This combination of insulation, automatic refill and controlled heating provides dependable all-season livestock watering without requiring animals to operate a paddle or pressure valve. |
