Product Overview

The 24V Heated Cattle Drinking Bowl is a compact automatic livestock waterer designed to provide dependable drinking water for cattle during cold-weather operation. It combines a robust drinking bowl, automatic float valve and low-voltage heating system to help protect the water area against freezing.

The reference professional configuration uses a 24V heating element installed beneath the drinking bowl and protected by a stainless steel cover. An integrated thermostat controls heater operation automatically, while the float valve maintains a consistent water level as livestock drink.

The compact wall or post-mounted design is suitable for dairy barns, beef cattle facilities, calf housing, holding pens and steel structure livestock buildings where individual frost-protected watering points are required.

Working Principle / Structural Principle

The drinking bowl is connected to the livestock water supply through an automatic float valve. When cattle drink and the water level falls, the float moves downward and opens the valve. Fresh water enters until the preset level is restored, after which the valve closes automatically.

During cold weather, the thermostat monitors temperature and automatically energizes the 24V heating element when heating is required. The heater is positioned underneath the drinking bowl so heat is transferred to the water area while remaining protected from direct livestock contact.

The combination of low-voltage heating, automatic refill and constant water-level control provides a simple frost-protected watering solution for winter livestock management.

Installation & Maintenance

Select the Installation Position: Mount the bowl where cattle can drink comfortably without interference from gates, feeding equipment or manure handling systems.

Set the Mounting Height: Determine the drinking height according to cattle size and livestock housing requirements.

Secure the Bowl: Fasten the unit firmly to a suitable wall, steel post or pipe using compatible mounting hardware.

Connect the Water Supply: Connect the float valve to the livestock water line and install an accessible isolation valve.

Install the 24V Power Supply: Use an appropriately sized transformer and electrical protection system according to local electrical regulations.

Protect Cables: Route electrical cables where livestock cannot bite, rub against or otherwise damage them.

Test Automatic Operation: Confirm correct water level, refill performance, thermostat switching and heating operation before winter use.

Routine Cleaning: Use the large drain opening to empty the bowl and remove feed residue, sediment and contamination.

Seasonal Inspection: Before freezing weather, inspect the heating element, thermostat, wiring, transformer, valve and water-line protection.

Project Cases

24V heated drinking bowls are suitable for cattle facilities that require individual winter watering points without installing a large heated trough. Units can be distributed between cattle groups according to barn layout and animal numbers.

In steel structure cattle barns, the water bowl can be attached to structural posts or livestock pen equipment while the 24V supply is routed through protected conduit. Water lines can also be insulated or fitted with supplementary heating cable where severe winter conditions require additional protection.

For livestock projects in cold regions, bowl quantity, transformer capacity, water-line design and mounting positions should be planned together before installation.
