Product Overview

The Rigid Screw Feed Conveyor is a mechanical conveying system designed for efficient transfer of dry livestock feed, grain, pellets and powdered agricultural materials. A rotating screw flight installed inside a rigid tubular housing moves bulk material from a silo, hopper or receiving point toward the required discharge location.

The system is suitable for poultry farms, pig farms, cattle facilities, feed mills and other livestock equipment projects. Galvanized steel and stainless steel versions, different tube diameters, conveying lengths, drive positions and loading hoppers can be configured according to feed characteristics, required throughput and farm layout.

Key Features
  • High Conveying Capacity: Multiple tube diameters and drive configurations support different farm feed-transfer requirements.
  • Rigid Tubular Construction: The enclosed tube helps protect feed during transportation and provides a stable conveying path.
  • Suitable for Different Feed Types: Designed for granular and powdered dry materials including grain, mash, pellets and livestock feed.
  • Galvanized or Stainless Steel: Material options can be selected according to corrosion exposure, feed characteristics and project requirements.
  • Flexible Drive Arrangement: Depending on configuration, the motor can be positioned at the inlet, outlet or another suitable point along the conveyor.
  • Inclined Conveying: Suitable for transferring feed from ground-level or silo-bottom outlets to elevated discharge points.
  • Controlled Feed Handling: Screw geometry provides continuous mechanical movement with predictable discharge.
  • Low Routine Maintenance: Simple mechanical construction allows practical inspection and servicing.
  • Mobile or Fixed Versions: Conveyors can be installed permanently or supplied with wheeled support frames according to farm requirements.
  • System Integration: Can connect feed silos with poultry, pig or cattle feeding equipment and downstream storage or mixing systems.
Structural Components
  • Rigid Conveyor Tube: Galvanized steel or stainless steel housing contains the rotating screw.
  • Screw Flight / Auger: Rotating helical element moves dry bulk material through the tube.
  • Electric Drive Unit: Supplies rotational power to the conveying screw.
  • Gearbox or Transmission: Matches motor speed and torque to conveying requirements.
  • Receiving Hopper: Introduces grain or feed into the conveyor and can be supplied in different capacities.
  • Feed Intake Regulator: Helps control material entry into compatible conveyor configurations.
  • Discharge Outlet: Directs conveyed material into a silo, mixer, hopper or feeding system.
  • Intermediate Supports: Bearings or structural supports maintain alignment on longer conveyor assemblies.
  • Safety Guard: Protects accessible moving components around the intake and drive area.
  • Support Frame: Fixed brackets, suspension supports or adjustable wheeled frames are available according to installation requirements.
Working Principle

Feed enters the receiving hopper or silo-bottom intake and reaches the rigid tubular conveyor. When the motor starts, the internal screw rotates continuously inside the tube.

The rotating helical flight pushes the dry bulk material along the tube toward the discharge end. Conveyor diameter, screw speed, inclination and material properties determine the effective conveying capacity.

At the outlet, the feed can discharge into another silo, feed hopper, mixer, automatic poultry feeding line, pig feeding system or other livestock equipment according to the project layout.

Installation & Maintenance

Installation: Determine the inlet position, discharge height, conveyor angle and supporting points according to the silo and livestock building layout. The conveyor should be correctly aligned and securely fixed before commissioning. Mobile versions must be positioned on stable ground and adjusted to the required operating angle.

Commissioning: Check screw rotation direction, drive alignment, hopper installation and all safety guards before introducing feed. Initial operation should be observed to confirm smooth material flow and stable motor loading.

Maintenance: Periodically inspect the motor, gearbox, bearings, screw flight, tube joints, support brackets and safety guards. Remove compacted or deteriorated feed when required and keep the intake area free from foreign objects that could obstruct the auger.

Product FAQ

Q: What materials can the rigid screw conveyor handle?

A: It is designed for dry granular and powdered products such as livestock feed, grain, mash and pellets, subject to the selected conveyor configuration.

Q: Which conveyor diameters are available?

A: Reference Agritech configurations include 120 mm, 160 mm, 200 mm and 250 mm diameters.

Q: What conveying capacity can be supplied?

A: Capacity depends on tube diameter, screw geometry, inclination, material density and motor configuration. Reference catalog values cover approximately 5,200 to 98,000 kg/h.

Q: Can the conveyor work directly from a feed silo?

A: Yes. A rigid screw conveyor can be connected to a suitable silo-bottom outlet and transfer feed to a livestock house, feed hopper, mixer or other receiving equipment.

Q: Is stainless steel available?

A: Yes. Galvanized steel and stainless steel configurations can be selected according to project requirements.

Q: Can the conveyor be supplied as a mobile unit?

A: Yes. Wheeled and adjustable trolley versions are available for applications requiring the conveyor to be moved between different loading or unloading points.
