Product Overview

The Flexible Auger Feed Conveyor System is designed for automatic transport of dry feed from storage silos, feed bins or central hoppers to poultry and livestock feeding equipment. A rotating coreless spiral moves feed through an enclosed conveying tube, providing a compact and efficient solution for modern farm feed distribution.

The system can follow straight, inclined and curved routes, making it suitable for poultry houses, pig farms, breeder facilities and other livestock equipment projects where building layout or height differences require flexible feed routing. Conveyor length, tube diameter, motor configuration and discharge arrangement can be selected according to project requirements.

Key Features
  • Flexible Feed Routing: Curved and straight tube sections allow the conveyor to adapt to different farm layouts and elevation changes.
  • Enclosed Feed Transport: The closed conveying tube helps protect feed from dust, moisture and external contamination during transfer.
  • Coreless Auger Design: Flexible spiral construction provides continuous feed movement without a central shaft.
  • Multiple Feed Types: Suitable for common dry livestock feeds such as mash, crumble, pellets and selected grain-based materials.
  • Automatic Operation: Can be integrated with level sensors, timers, feed controllers and automatic poultry feeding systems.
  • Compact Installation: Requires limited installation space compared with many conventional bulk conveying systems.
  • Low Routine Maintenance: Simple mechanical construction reduces the number of moving components requiring regular service.
  • Project Integration: Suitable for new steel structure building projects and modernization of existing livestock equipment systems.
Structural Components
  • Flexible Auger Spiral: Hardened steel spiral that rotates inside the conveying tube and moves feed forward.
  • Conveyor Tube: Wear-resistant plastic, PVC, steel or project-specific tube enclosing the feed and auger.
  • Silo Boot / Intake Hopper: Receives feed from the storage silo or central feed bin.
  • Drive Unit: Electric motor and gearbox rotate the auger at the required operating speed.
  • Curved Tube Sections: Allow routing around structural obstacles and between different elevations.
  • Feed Drop Outlets: Transfer feed into hoppers, feeding lines or intermediate distribution equipment.
  • Level Sensor: Automatically starts or stops feed delivery according to downstream feed demand.
  • Tube Supports and Clamps: Maintain alignment and provide secure installation along the conveyor route.
Working Principle

Feed enters the conveyor through the silo boot or intake hopper. When the drive motor operates, the flexible spiral rotates inside the enclosed tube and continuously moves feed toward the discharge point.

The conveyor can deliver feed directly to a poultry feeding line, day hopper, weighing hopper or secondary distribution system. A level sensor or controller can stop the motor when the receiving hopper is full and restart the conveyor when additional feed is required.

Installation & Maintenance

The conveyor route should be planned according to silo position, poultry house layout, required feed capacity and permitted tube curvature. Tubes must be securely supported to prevent sagging, while curved sections should follow the specified bending radius for reliable auger operation.

Routine maintenance includes checking auger wear, tube joints, suspension points, drive alignment, gearbox condition, feed outlets and level sensors. The electrical supply must be isolated before inspection or maintenance of the auger, motor, feed intake or discharge components.

Product FAQ

Q: What is a flexible auger feed conveyor?
A: It is an enclosed feed transport system that uses a rotating flexible steel spiral inside a tube to move dry feed from a silo or hopper to feeding equipment.

Q: Can the conveyor follow curved routes?
A: Yes. Flexible auger systems can incorporate suitable curved sections, making them useful when the feed route must pass around building structures or accommodate height differences.

Q: What types of poultry feed can be transported?
A: Typical applications include mash, crumble, pellets and other suitable dry feed materials. Final auger and tube selection should match the feed characteristics.

Q: Can the conveyor connect directly to a feed silo?
A: Yes. A silo boot or transition can connect the storage silo directly to the flexible auger conveyor.

Q: Can the system operate automatically?
A: Yes. Level sensors, timers and farm controllers can be used to start and stop the conveyor according to feed demand.

Q: Can SHEWUYOU customize the complete feed conveying system?
A: Yes. Conveyor length, tube diameter, auger size, motor, silo connections, discharge outlets and control equipment can be configured according to project requirements.
