Product Overview

The Electric Brooder Temperature Controller is designed to automatically manage compatible electric brooders, infrared heaters, heating plates and other localized poultry heating equipment according to the required brooding temperature.

A temperature sensor monitors the surrounding environment and switches or regulates the connected heater according to the selected setpoint. This helps maintain more consistent conditions for chicks, poults, ducklings and other young poultry while reducing unnecessary continuous heater operation.

Suitable for commercial poultry houses, hatcheries, breeder farms and livestock buildings, the controller can be configured for different voltage, sensor, enclosure and control requirements. Selection should be based on heater electrical load, installation environment and required control method.

Key Features
  • Automatic temperature control: Activates or deactivates compatible electric heating equipment according to the selected temperature setting.
  • Stable brooding environment: Helps reduce large temperature fluctuations around chick-rearing areas.
  • Heating equipment compatibility: Suitable for electric brooders, infrared heaters, heat lamps and other compatible resistive heating loads.
  • Remote temperature sensing: Sensor configurations allow measurement closer to the bird or litter level where required.
  • Simple adjustment: Mechanical dial or digital control versions can be supplied according to project requirements.
  • Farm-duty enclosure: Corrosion-resistant and moisture-resistant housing options are available for demanding poultry and livestock environments.
  • Flexible installation: Suitable for wall mounting, equipment mounting or portable configurations according to model.
  • Energy management: Reduces unnecessary heater operation when the required brooding temperature has been reached.
  • Easy maintenance: Accessible terminals, sensor and control components simplify routine inspection.
  • Project customization: Voltage, control range, sensor type, enclosure and output configuration can be selected according to project requirements.
Structural Components
Component Function
Temperature Sensor Detects ambient or brooding-zone temperature and sends the measurement to the controller.
Temperature Adjustment Allows the required heating setpoint to be selected.
Control Relay Switches compatible heating equipment according to temperature demand.
Controller Housing Protects internal electrical and control components from the farm environment.
Cable Entry Provides protected routing for power, sensor and heater wiring.
Mounting Points Allow secure installation on walls, structural members or equipment panels.
Optional Display Digital versions can display measured temperature, setpoint and operating status.
Working Principle

The temperature sensor continuously monitors conditions in the selected brooding zone. The measured temperature is compared with the setpoint selected on the controller.

When the temperature falls below the required level, the controller energizes the connected brooder or heater. When the temperature rises to the control threshold, the controller switches the heater off or changes the output stage according to the selected control configuration.

This automatic heating cycle helps maintain a more stable microclimate while allowing the poultry-house ventilation and lighting systems to operate independently.

Installation & Maintenance

Installation

  1. Confirm that the controller voltage and output rating match the connected electric brooder.
  2. Mount the controller in an accessible position protected from direct water spray where required.
  3. Position the temperature sensor in a representative brooding area rather than directly against the heater.
  4. Connect power supply, heater output and sensor wiring according to the wiring diagram.
  5. Provide suitable overload, short-circuit and leakage protection according to local electrical requirements.
  6. Set the required brooding temperature.
  7. Test heater switching and verify that the controller responds correctly to temperature changes.
  8. Observe bird distribution during initial operation and adjust the temperature setting where necessary.

Maintenance

  • Disconnect electrical power before opening or servicing the controller.
  • Keep the sensor free from dust, litter and manure accumulation.
  • Inspect cable glands, wiring and terminals for looseness or corrosion.
  • Check the controller enclosure for moisture ingress or physical damage.
  • Compare controller readings periodically with a reliable reference thermometer.
  • Test heater switching before each brooding cycle.
  • Electrical installation and servicing should be carried out by qualified personnel according to applicable local regulations.
Project Cases

Electric brooder temperature controllers are suitable for commercial poultry farms using multiple localized electric heaters. SHEWUYOU can configure controller quantity, sensor positions, electrical distribution and heater grouping according to poultry-house drawings, brooding-zone layout and electrical load requirements.

Product FAQ

Q1: What does an electric brooder temperature controller do?

It monitors temperature and switches compatible electric heating equipment according to the selected setpoint.

Q2: Can it control an infrared electric brooder?

Yes, provided the controller voltage and electrical output rating are suitable for the heater load.

Q3: Can it be used with a heating plate?

Compatible heating plates can be controlled when their electrical design permits external thermostat switching.
