| Working Principle |
Electrical energy is converted into heat by the brooder heating element. The reflector directs a significant portion of this heat downward toward the chick zone, where the birds, litter and nearby surfaces absorb the thermal energy. A thermostat or temperature controller monitors the brooding environment and switches or regulates the heating circuit according to the selected temperature setting. Multiple brooders can be divided into heating zones for more flexible environmental management. As broilers grow and require less supplemental heat, the temperature set point can be reduced and the brooder height or operating schedule adjusted according to flock requirements. |

Brooder spacing should be determined according to heating output, house dimensions and required temperature uniformity. Electrical circuits should be sized for the combined heater load and protected with suitable circuit breakers, grounding and residual-current protection according to local electrical regulations. Installation and commissioning should be completed by qualified electrical personnel. Temperature sensors should be positioned where they represent actual chick-level conditions and should not be exposed directly to excessive radiant heat. Observe chick distribution after placement and adjust temperature, brooder height and zone settings when required. Disconnect electrical power before cleaning or maintenance. Inspect heating elements, wiring, terminals, thermostats, suspension hardware and reflector surfaces regularly. Remove accumulated dust and litter to maintain reliable heat transfer and reduce electrical and fire risks. |
