The Electric Chick Heating Plate is a low-energy brooding heater designed to provide gentle contact-style radiant warmth for newly hatched chicks and other young poultry. Birds gather beneath the heated plate in a manner similar to sheltering beneath a mother hen, while remaining free to move away whenever additional heat is not required. The plate is supported by adjustable legs that allow the working height and, on compatible configurations, the plate angle to be changed as birds grow. This enables the same heater to serve different chick development stages while maintaining an appropriate heating distance. Its compact electric design is suitable for hatcheries, brooder pens, poultry rearing rooms, breeder farms and commercial livestock equipment projects. | Working Principle |
Electrical energy is converted into heat by an internal resistance heating element. The generated heat spreads across the underside of the plate, creating a warm surface above the chicks. Young birds move beneath the plate and position their backs close to the warm underside. Because the heater is localized, birds can move outward when they become warm and return beneath the plate when additional heat is required. As the chicks increase in body size, the support legs are raised to increase the clearance between the bedding and heating plate. Different leg heights can also be used to create a sloped plate on compatible models. This heating method concentrates electrical energy around the occupied brooding zone and can reduce the need to maintain a uniformly high air temperature throughout the entire rearing room. |
