Product Overview

The Electric Chick Brooder Heating Plate is designed to provide gentle localized warmth for newly hatched chicks and other young poultry. The heating surface is positioned above the birds so they can move underneath the plate and select a comfortable warming position in a way that resembles natural brooding beneath a hen.

Unlike conventional suspended heat lamps that continuously radiate heat and light over a large area, a brooder plate concentrates warmth around the birds. This supports energy-efficient brooding and allows normal light and dark periods inside the poultry-rearing area.

Adjustable support legs allow the working height and, on compatible designs, the plate angle to be changed as chicks grow. Different dimensions, electrical configurations and heating capacities can be supplied according to project requirements.

Key Features
  • Natural brooding principle: Provides warmth beneath the plate so chicks can move in and out according to their comfort requirements.
  • Adjustable height: Supporting legs can be raised as birds grow during the brooding period.
  • Radiant and contact warmth: The heated underside transfers warmth directly to the chick zone.
  • Low-energy heating: Concentrated heat reduces unnecessary heating of the entire surrounding air volume.
  • No continuous brooding light: Allows normal poultry-house day and night lighting programs.
  • Stable four-leg structure: Provides secure positioning on litter, mesh floors or suitable brooder surfaces.
  • Easy adjustment: Individual legs can be positioned according to chick size and brooding requirements.
  • Easy cleaning: Smooth external surfaces simplify routine sanitation between batches.
  • Compact installation: Requires no ceiling suspension and is easy to position inside brooder pens.
  • Customizable configuration: Plate size, electrical specification and heating capacity are available according to project requirements.
Structural Components
Component Function
Heating Panel Generates controlled warmth across the brooding area.
Heat Distribution Plate Helps distribute heat more evenly across the underside of the brooder.
Insulated Housing Protects internal electrical components and helps direct useful heat downward.
Adjustable Legs Allow the brooder height to be changed as chicks increase in size.
Heating Element Converts electrical energy into controlled thermal output.
Power Cable Connects the heating plate to the compatible electrical supply or transformer.
Power Indicator Provides visual confirmation of operating status where fitted.
Working Principle

Electrical energy is supplied to the internal heating element, which warms the heat-distribution surface on the underside of the plate.

Chicks position themselves beneath the heated panel and receive warmth through close-range radiant and contact heating. Birds can move away from the plate whenever they require a cooler environment, creating a natural temperature-selection zone within the brooder.

As the chicks grow, the support legs can be raised to increase clearance beneath the panel. Some installations can also use different leg heights to create a sloping surface, providing different clearances for birds of varying size.

Installation & Maintenance

Installation

  1. Install the four adjustable support legs securely into the heating plate.
  2. Position the unit on a stable and dry brooder floor.
  3. Set the initial plate height according to chick size.
  4. Ensure chicks have unrestricted access to enter and leave the heated area.
  5. Keep feeders and drinkers positioned so spilled water cannot reach electrical connections.
  6. Connect the brooder to the specified power supply.
  7. Allow the plate to reach operating temperature before introducing birds where practical.
  8. Observe chick distribution and adjust plate height if necessary.

Maintenance

  • Disconnect the electrical supply before cleaning or moving the brooder.
  • Remove litter, dust and manure deposits after each rearing batch.
  • Clean smooth external surfaces using a suitable farm sanitation procedure.
  • Keep power supplies, plugs and electrical connections dry unless specifically rated otherwise.
  • Inspect the cable regularly for abrasion, cuts or other damage.
  • Check adjustable legs and locking points before each use.
  • Replace damaged electrical or structural components before returning the unit to service.
Project Cases

Electric chick heating plates are suitable for hatcheries, breeding farms and poultry-rearing projects requiring localized brooding for small or medium groups of young birds. SHEWUYOU can configure plate quantities and sizes according to chick numbers, brooder-pen layout, electrical supply and local environmental conditions.

Product FAQ

Q1: How does a chick brooder heating plate work?

The heated underside provides localized radiant and contact warmth. Chicks move beneath the plate when they need heat and move away when they are comfortable.

Q2: Is the height adjustable?

Yes. Adjustable support legs allow the clearance beneath the plate to increase as the chicks grow.

Q3: Can one side be lower than the other?

Compatible designs allow individual leg adjustment, creating different clearances so birds of different sizes can select a suitable position.

Q4: Is a heating plate suitable for ducklings and quail?

Yes. Properly sized brooder plates can be used for chicks, ducklings, quail, poults and other young poultry according to species and size.

Q5: How many chicks can one plate heat?

Capacity depends on plate dimensions, bird size, age, ambient temperature and brooding conditions. Several plate sizes can be supplied according to project requirements.

Q6: Does the heating plate produce light?

The heating panel itself does not require a high-output heat lamp, allowing poultry-house lighting to be controlled separately.

Q7: Can low-voltage versions be supplied?

Yes. Low-voltage configurations can be supplied according to project requirements and destination-market standards.

Q8: Can SHEWUYOU supply multiple sizes for distributors?

Yes. Different plate dimensions, electrical specifications and packaging configurations are available for farms, distributors and agricultural project procurement.
