Product Overview

The Full Dual-Width Cattle Race is a fixed livestock handling alley designed for farms that process cattle of significantly different body sizes through the same handling system.

Adjustable panels are installed on both sides of the race. By inserting or removing these panels, operators can configure the internal working width for young stock, intermediate-size cattle or mature animals. This flexible structure reduces the need for separate handling races while helping prevent smaller cattle from turning around inside an oversized alley.

Key Features
  • Adjustable panels on both sides provide three practical race-width configurations.
  • Reference minimum width of approximately 480 mm for smaller young stock.
  • Intermediate width of approximately 610 mm when one side of adjustable panels is installed.
  • Maximum reference width of approximately 740 mm for mature cattle.
  • Narrower settings help prevent young cattle from turning inside the handling race.
  • Fully clad race panels reduce external visual distractions and support smoother cattle flow.
  • Reference panel height of approximately 1560 mm provides substantial livestock containment.
  • Suitable for integration with cattle crushes, scales, veterinary areas and sorting systems.
  • Heavy-duty galvanized steel framework suits permanent commercial cattle facilities.
Structural Components
  • Main Race Frame: Provides the permanent structural support for the handling alley.
  • Adjustable Left-Side Panels: Can be inserted or removed to change the internal race width.
  • Adjustable Right-Side Panels: Work independently from the opposite side to provide multiple width settings.
  • Stockboard Cladding: Creates a solid visual barrier that limits outside distractions.
  • Vertical Support Posts: Maintain alignment and structural rigidity along the race.
  • Panel Retaining Points: Hold adjustable inserts securely in the selected operating position.
  • Front Control Gate: Sliding-gate configurations can regulate entry into the next handling station.
  • System Connections: Allow integration with holding pens, forcing pens, cattle crushes and drafting areas.
Working Principle

Before cattle enter the handling system, the operator selects the race width according to the size of the livestock group. Installing adjustable panels on both sides creates the narrowest configuration for smaller young stock.

Installing panels on only one side produces an intermediate-width race, while removing the adjustable panels from both sides provides the maximum working width for mature cattle.

The selected width keeps animals moving in single file and limits their ability to turn around before they enter the cattle crush, weighing platform, treatment area or sorting equipment.

Product FAQ

Q: What is a full dual-width cattle race?
A: It is a handling race with adjustable panels on both sides, allowing the internal width to be changed for different cattle sizes.

Q: What width settings are available on the reference system?
A: The reference configuration provides approximately 480 mm, 610 mm and 740 mm working widths.

Q: Why is the 480 mm setting useful?
A: The narrow configuration helps keep smaller young stock moving in single file and reduces the possibility of animals turning around inside the race.

Q: How is the 610 mm width created?
A: The intermediate width is created by installing the adjustable panels on one side of the race while leaving the opposite side in its wider position.

Q: Can mature cattle use the same race?
A: Yes. Removing the adjustable panels from both sides creates the maximum reference width of approximately 740 mm.

Q: Can the race connect to a cattle crush and weighing system?
A: Yes. It can be incorporated into a complete handling layout with cattle crushes, weighing platforms, EID equipment and sorting gates.

Q: Can SHEWUYOU customize the complete race layout?
A: Yes. Race length, width settings, cladding, gate positions, surface treatment and system connections can be configured according to project requirements.
