| Working Principle | The matched sampling components are loaded into a compatible tissue sampling applicator. After the animal is properly restrained, the applicator is positioned on a suitable area of the ear while avoiding major blood vessels, damaged tissue and existing identification tags. When the applicator is closed with firm and continuous pressure, the sampling needle passes through the ear and captures a small tissue specimen while the identification tag is attached. After sampling, the needle containing the specimen is retained by the applicator. The matching collection tube is then placed over the sampling component to enclose and seal the tissue sample. The identified specimen can then be transported to a qualified laboratory for DNA extraction, genomic analysis or other validated testing procedures. |
