Product Overview

The Natural Gas Brooder is a suspended radiant heating unit designed for commercial poultry houses during brooding and early growth stages. It converts natural gas into concentrated radiant heat and directs warmth toward chicks, litter and floor surfaces where heat is needed most.

Localized radiant brooding creates defined comfort zones that allow birds to move naturally between warmer and cooler areas. This makes the system suitable for broilers, breeders, pullets, turkeys and other poultry production applications.

SHEWUYOU can configure natural gas brooder systems together with gas supply components, thermostats, zone controllers, ventilation equipment and steel structure poultry house projects according to local climate and farm conditions.

Key Features
  • Natural gas heating: Designed for poultry farms with centralized natural gas supply systems.
  • Radiant heat delivery: Directs thermal energy toward birds, litter and floor surfaces instead of heating only the surrounding air.
  • Localized brooding zone: Creates an effective temperature gradient so birds can select a suitable comfort area.
  • Reflective canopy: Helps direct useful radiant energy toward the poultry production area.
  • Corrosion-resistant construction: Metal components are selected for demanding poultry-house environments with humidity, dust and ammonia exposure.
  • Flexible control: Compatible configurations can use individual thermostats, zone controls or centralized poultry-house climate controllers.
  • Suspended installation: Suitable for steel structure poultry buildings and adjustable installation heights.
  • Easy servicing: Accessible burner and control components simplify routine inspection and maintenance.
  • Project customization: Heating capacity, ignition method, control system and mounting arrangement can be selected according to project requirements.
Structural Components
Component Function
Reflective Canopy Reflects and distributes radiant heat toward the brooding area.
Radiant Emitter Converts burner heat into infrared radiant energy.
Natural Gas Burner Mixes natural gas with combustion air and generates controlled heat.
Gas Valve Controls fuel delivery to the burner.
Gas Pressure Regulator Maintains gas pressure according to burner operating requirements.
Ignition System Provides pilot or electronic burner ignition according to configuration.
Flame Safety Device Helps interrupt gas supply if safe flame operation is not detected.
Suspension Assembly Supports overhead installation and height adjustment.
Working Principle

Natural gas enters the brooder through a regulated gas supply and is delivered to the burner. The burner mixes fuel with combustion air and ignites the mixture to generate heat.

Heat from combustion raises the temperature of the radiant emitter. The emitter then transfers infrared energy downward toward the litter, floor and birds beneath the brooder.

A thermostat or environmental controller can regulate brooder operation according to poultry-house temperature demand. Multiple brooders can also be divided into heating zones for efficient management of large commercial houses.

Installation & Maintenance

Installation

  1. Calculate the required heating load and determine brooder quantity and spacing.
  2. Install secure suspension points on suitable poultry-house structural members.
  3. Suspend each brooder at the specified operating height and maintain required safety clearances.
  4. Connect the natural gas supply through approved piping, regulators and shut-off valves.
  5. Install thermostats, zone controls or environmental controller connections where required.
  6. Perform gas-leak testing before commissioning.
  7. Check burner ignition and flame stability.
  8. Verify poultry-house ventilation before normal operation.

Maintenance

  • Remove dust, feathers and litter deposits from the brooder regularly.
  • Inspect burner openings and air passages for blockage.
  • Check gas valves, regulators and fittings for secure connections.
  • Inspect ignition electrodes, pilot assemblies or flame sensors according to model.
  • Check suspension chains, cables and mounting hardware.
  • Test thermostatic and zone controls before each brooding cycle.
  • Installation and servicing of natural gas equipment should be performed by qualified personnel in accordance with applicable local regulations.
Project Cases

Natural gas brooders are suitable for large commercial poultry farms with centralized fuel supply systems. SHEWUYOU can calculate brooder quantity, heating zones, mounting positions and control arrangements according to poultry-house drawings, stocking plan, insulation level, ventilation design and project climate conditions.

Product FAQ

Q1: What is a natural gas brooder?

It is a gas-fired radiant heater designed to provide localized warmth for chicks and young poultry during brooding.

Q2: What is the advantage of radiant brooding?

Radiant energy warms birds, litter and floor surfaces directly, helping create a defined comfort zone beneath the brooder.

Q3: Can multiple brooders operate in heating zones?

Yes. Compatible brooders can be grouped into zones and controlled by thermostats or a centralized poultry-house environmental controller.

Q4: Is electronic ignition available?

Yes. Direct spark ignition can be supplied on compatible configurations according to project requirements.

Q5: How many brooders are required in one poultry house?

Quantity depends on house dimensions, heater output, insulation, ventilation, stocking arrangement and outdoor climate conditions.

Q6: Can natural gas brooders be installed in existing poultry houses?

Yes. Retrofit installation is possible when the building structure, gas supply, ventilation system and safety clearances meet project requirements.

Q7: Can the brooders be raised after the brooding period?
